Hello,

I have read the ticket FAQ's, but I'm having trouble applying it to my situation. DH and I each have 5day park hoppers (plastic-stars, cars, etc), one has plusses and no-expiration, the other is just a hopper. The price is clearly printed on the back. These have not been used yet (we are going next week). We are thinking of upgrading to 10-day plus tickets non-expiring. Would we be charged the difference of the current gate price of the 10-days minus what is marked on the tickets?
Does this make sense to do even if we don't have a future trip planned?
Thanks for your help.

You'll be charged the difference between the current price of what you're buying and how much Disney received for the passes that you're turning in. One distinction there is that if you purchased your tickets through a reseller, the reseller may have paid Disney less than the price printed on the ticket -- you'd get the amount that that reseller paid Disney for the ticket applied to your purchase, regardless of how much you paid for it.

Beyond that, I believe there might be some restrictions on upgrading -- such as you having to upgrade to at least as "plussed" of a ticket as you're upgrading from. So, if the ticket you're upgrading has park hopping, you have to upgrade to a ticket with park hopping, for example. I'm not sure about that, though. SeashoreCM knows all about this stuff... hopefully she'll see this thread and fill-in the blanks, if she has a chance.
