Ticket Return/Exchange Policies

I have searched this forum and the Disneyland website, and cannot find a refund/exchange policy anywhere. I was wondering because my grandfather bought us 3- 2day park hopper tickets but we would like 4- 3day park hopper tickets (seeing how many of you frown upon me for trying to get my 3 yrs and 1 month old daughter in as a 2 yr) its $300 more so you would think disney would gladly take my money but I do not know for sure. If you do not know can you at least give me a number or website that has such info. Its much appreciated since we are leaving friday March 26th and need to get everything handled before we leave.

You should be able to upgrade the three you have for the difference in cost between the 2 and 3 day hoppers and then purchase the fourth for regular price at a ticket window.

Yup! Just upgrade when you get there! And honestly, it wouldn't matter who looked down on me I would not buy a park ticket for any child who could pass for 3, sorry Disney but you already get a lot of my money. Lol

Yup! Just upgrade when you get there! And honestly, it wouldn't matter who looked down on me I would not buy a park ticket for any child who could pass for 3, sorry Disney but you already get a lot of my money. Lol

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Thanks for the number dreams. But I think this age thing is up for debate. I don't feel I should have to pay for my daughter(but I will cause dreams is right, its cheating). (1st: She is undersized for her age so she can't go on all the rides yet (2nd:She just turned 3 a month ago so Im really not far off (and don't give me the "you should have gone earlier" cause I have stated before, Life happens and you have to adjust. Not everyone has the luxury to take time off when ever they want, especially when you are working 2 jobs, the wife is going to school, and you have a newborn at home.) (3rd: I don't agree that 3 is a good age to cut off for kids because technically she is still a toddler. She is smart for her age; reading, writing, navigating websites, but come on.

Anyways I'm still buying the tickets and this is just a rant. I know now Im not the only one who has thought about it. But as dreams stated its cheating (I wouldnt say stealing cause 149.99 a ticket + high$$$ food/drink and merch is already stealing. I love Disneyland but seriously I don't think they are hurting for my $150 seeing as how they are a $54 billion+ company). Like I said just a rant, Im not actually going through with it, too much guilt and stress.

I agree. It is one reason society is what it is today. I am a share holder, I invest in Disney so Disney may grow and make a profit, when you cheat you are stealing from someone. People who raise their children that this is OK.

You could probably get her in and no what would no the difference. Paying thier prices is not stealing(your in school, look up the definition.) You are voluntarily giving the money to them. I started back to school slowly when I was 30+, I currently hold four degree's, two being masters and they are worthless. I can make more money working in Afghanistan, Iraq or any third world country than I could ever make in the states, but as I have gotten old it is getting harder to keep pace with the recent combat vets.
Having discusions on ethic's, moral's, integrety and honesty starts wars on any discussion board.

I started back to school slowly when I was 30+, I currently hold four degree's, two being masters and they are worthless. Thanks Jack. Im not in school anymore, plus I went to school for audio engineering not Semantics. But honestly how many people here own illegally downloaded music? I bet no one answers to prove a point but whats your reason for not purchasing the song you have? You didn't think $.99 was an acceptable price for the song? When you do that people like me don't get paid for their work. Its the same as me not wanting to pay for my borderline 3 yr old who doesn't get the full experience that $150 is supposed to entail but no one turns there noses up and points their fingers at you(except Lars from Metallica). Oh yeah, at common law, robbery is defined as taking the property of another, with the intent to permanently deprive the person of that property, by means of force or fear. I sure as heck fear disney kicking me out or denying me entry permanently. And Im pretty sure Disney's intent is to deprive me permanently of that $150. Thanks Jack, all in all Im just stressed and money unfortunately plays a big part in the trip. Especially because we had to pay a $900 car repair bill (talk about robbery) and that came out of our trip savings. I don't steal and I want to make sure Robert Iger gets his fat check.

1st: She is undersized for her age so she can't go on all the rides yet

I just wanted to point out that my DD3 is average height for her age and is nowhere near 40" yet, which is the height requirement for several of the bigger rides. I believe the only other rides with a lower height requirement are Matterhorn and Gadget's Go Coaster which are 35". So even if she is under 35" she can ride everything else. I think there are only about a dozen rides between DCA and DL that she won't be able to go on.

So anyway, my point is - she can go on most of the rides, that's the good news!

And I don't necessarily disagree with you that 3 is pretty young to have to pay that high of a cost.

As to your comment about illegally downloading music-I can answer that one. I have never downloaded music illegally. So that's one. You didn't ask but I also don't own, nor have ever viewed, any pirated movies. Thirdly, I can also honestly say that even though I grew up in the 80's and 90's I have never used any illegal drugs. Not even pot. So I for one can tell my DD10 not to use illegal drugs and not have to lie about using them myself.

I'm sorry that things have been tough in your field. I'm in construction and we've been hit hard as well. Don't even get me starting on illegal contractors who hire illegal workers and don't pay worker's comp!

At the end of the day everyone has to live with the decisions they make.

My DD is very small for her age and when she turned 3 I too had this dilemma. She could easily have passed for under 3 but I knew that if she was asked her age she would happily have said "I'm 3! Then what would I do? How would I explain to her that it was okay to lie about her age to get in for free? And knowing my DD, she would have told them even if they didn't ask her! When my niece was much younger, she was big for her age. We used to take her to DLR all the time. Her mom (my DS) would tell her to scrunch down in her stroller, hold her blankie, and suck her thumb as we went through the entrance so they wouldn't ask her age. And she was under 3-we just didn't want them to ask and then not believe her. (Like my DD, my niece was very well spoken for her age.)

Back to your original question, PP have said the same thing I would have said-just upgrade your current PH to the amount of days you want. No need to return them and then purchase new ones.

Have a wonderful trip! 3 is a wonderful age to take to WDW. We took my DD to WDW for the first time when she was 2 and 9 months. She doesn't remember the trip but I do and have wonderful memories and pictures.

Obviously everyone has their own feelings about what they feel is right for them when it comes to paying for what and when. Do what you think is right and move on, you can only be responsible for you.

Personally, I'm getting ready to spend $300 on an AP for my soon-to-be three year old on his birthday and I couldn't be happier because the memories and experiences we have as a family at Disney are priceless for us.

Regardless, I hope that you have a wonderful trip and in the end feel that whatever money you spent was well worth the experience.

I agree with what you are syaing, it is what society has come to. I also was student and could not afford to even own a car, sometimes had nothing to eat for days because what I earned went to school. When I did get married we did not have kids for awhile since we could not afford it and now both my DGF and I work two jobs each and have 4 kids in college to be able to afford anything.
I have empathy for what you are going through or any one else in your situation but you made the decision to do what you are doing. Hell, I would love to find a job in the L.A. Basin so I could be a "dreaded" local.

Find what works for you and Disney only bans folks for bad things. Not for having a 3 year old without a ticket.
Have a good time with your loved one, that is what is most important in life.

I would assume that ticket purchases are final, but who knows? Upgrading might end up with being charged gate price for the ticket you want, since the x days for y days' cost tickets are not sold at the gate.

Know that even though a 3 year old can't go on ALL the rides, there are tons of rides she can go on, and she's going to get enjoyment out of the experience in ways adults cannot imagine/remember. From watching DS during a 1 day visit to DL when he was 17 months, another 1 day visit to DL a year later, 2 visits when he was 3, a few visits when he was 4, 2 visits this year while he's 5...every time he goes, he experiences things afresh. Yes, as he gets older he remembers more, and can think about past experiences, but still, he notices different things and enjoys it in new ways.

A 3 year old is going to enjoy the heck out of herself while there, even if she can't go on Space or Star Tours or CA Screamin'.

And for that additional ticket, I'd buy it online at the cheaper price ahead of time.

Watch out, he'll want to carry it! We just couldn't let DS do that, but when we renewed and got new cards, I let him carry his old AP. Made him happy.

If DLR were like WDW and gave replacement APs for free, I would have let him carry it. But DLR charges $20 for lost APs (if they are stolen you can bring in the police report and you get them replaced for free), so I couldn't risk it. Go figure, it was DH who lost his and DS's APs! It was the fault of the restraints on Screamin' (the plastic on DH's lanyard pouch gave way during the loop), but still. That $40 to replace them was NOT pretty.

Last year I bought two 2-day parkhoppers for my sister and me, but then decided I wanted 3-day hoppers instead. While the tickets say non-refundable, I contacted Disney via telephone (or email, I can't remember!) and explained that I didn't want a refund, just wanted to buy MORE expensive tickets, and they refunded my credit card the original purchase price the next day! It's worth a try!

ummm, since you said no one would answer I thought I would. I don't download music, movies or anything not stated as free without paying for it. It's illegal, it's stealing and we don't do that. And yes, Lars from Metallica has plenty of $$ but his reasons are good, it's not something that should be done.

I know once I hear that disneyland train I will forget all my stresses and become a 3 yr old myself again. I appreciate the phone numbers and suggestions, it helped out a lot. Disneyland's customer service is superb btw, they are so nice. I upgraded and will be there Sat, Sun, and Mon. This will be awesome since its my wives first true visit to disneyland, since the last visit we had was in August and she was pregnant. There will be plenty of photos and video so I made need a link to a thread on how to post them all.

Oh Yeah, they gave me a refund line number and it said all tickets purchased through disney parks are refundable but must be through mail and they said it takes up to 4-6weeks. So we refunded the tickets our So Cal grandpa bought us and purchased the 3 day park hopper promo w/1 magic morning for $149 a ticket.
