I get how some people have the argument that it's wrong to get your 3 year old in for free, but "stealing", come on! I would say it's "wrong", it is not stealing. I have a similar dilima...my middle daughter turned 10 this year, which is Disney's definition of adult (completely absured, but whatever), I will be paying the adult price for her because she is tall for her age and because we can. I would never look down on anyone that chose to "get their child in" for one year (or one month)younger than they are. She has never set foot on ANY of the bigger rides. She has been tall enough to go on everything since she was 5, but she wont. She is scared to death of anything that "drops" or goes in the dark. So we will be paying adult price for my daughter that will only go on the kiddie rides, on another note, we have a 5 year old that is not yet 40 inches (she is very small for her age). So she can only go on the "kiddie" rides, yet we will be paying full price for her as well. It is what it is, we all make our personal choices and who are any of us to judge others.
Update from my phone. I talked with guest relations and they told me "as long as the purchaser is a so cal resident anyone can use the tickets." Plus they upgraded us and all we pay is the difference between the first purchase and the web special. That's how we upgraded instead of cancelling one purchase and making a whole new one. Hope this helps someone for future reference. So excited for tomorrow!!!
Just a quick fyi, if your child is under 3 or still 9 when your trip starts they are considered the younger age by Disney the complete trip....so if you want to get your almost 3 year old in free or pay the lower price for your child start the trip before their bday......and yes it works for those who have APs too, I was making reservations for DD's 10th bday trip last Dec and I was joking with the CM about her turning 10 and wanting to eat at BB and the CM said "but we just made reservations for the day before too so she's still considered 9" I said "but we have APs" and she said "that doesn't matter, not for the dining portion, she's still 9 as far as we are concerned" so even tho DD turned 10 that trip she still counted as a 9 y.o. for our dining experiences.
