We don't want to spend the extra $$ for the park hopper option, but I was wondering if this would work instead. Since it is much cheaper to buy extra days, would it be possible to buy say a 10 day ticket, but use 2 "days" on one day.

Example:

We go to AKL until closing, but want to parkhop to Epcot for dinner or MK for fireworks. Could we use 1 day at each park, potentially using 2 or 3 days in one physical day?

No, I'm sorry, but that won't work at all.

The tickets are coded to only remove one 'day', and it remembers which park you first used your ticket at for that day. The only way to visit a different park on the same day with the same ticket is with the hopper feature.

Nope the system recognizes that a ticket has been used and what park it was used on. It will not allow 2 days to be used on one date.
