we have some left over days on some tickets. there might be anywhere from 2 to 5 days...

my question is.. if there is less than 5 days.. like lets say there is 3 days... is there anyway to upgrade the ticket.. to like a 5 day hopper?

There sure is. You will pay the difference between the remaining days (at what you purchased them for) and the new hopper.

just using the remaining days on your hopper. You will only get credit for the $$ that you paid when you bought your ticket, not the current price. Lets say you paid $100 for your 5 day hopper, and the current price is $200. You would only get a credit of $20 per day toward the new hopper price of $40 per day- make sense?

I agree with sln88, but if you're only visiting for 5 days you might want to check before you ever enter a park. If you do have 3 days left, you will only be able to buy one-day, one-park tickets for your remaining two days. This may put a damper on your plans if you had intended on "hopping" for the entire trip.

Even though you may get minimal credit toward a 5-day PH, it may be the only viable option to keep to your touring plans.

I agree with it possibly dampering our trip (if we go). My next question is, is there any way to have the left over tickets "scanned" or anything to find out how many days are left?

I mean, they have bar codes, and "upc" numbers if you will. Can't I take them to a Disney Store, or call Disney and give them the numbers and they will tell me?

The Hoppers that are sold in the Disney Store, are those "gate" prices, or are they "advanced" prices? Also, can I take my left over tickets to the Disney Store and have them accreditted to a new hopper there? Or do we have to wait until we get to the gate?

The only way to check the days remaining is at your resort, if you are staying on site, at guest services at DD or one of the parks.
The prices at the DS are advanced and no, you cannot apply the old pass towards the purchase of a new pass at the DS.

The tickets can only be upgraded while at WDW. One thing to remember too is that you will be charged the higher gate price for the new ticket when upgrading while receiving credit based on the price of the old ticket. That means in most cases, you will be paying more to use what you already have paid for.
