Ticket question

I'm sure this is obvious, but I can't find the answer. We want to go for a day in September, I'd like to just buy tickets now and make reservations with them as soon as the date is available. Would I just pick a comparable day for 1 day tickets and then pay the difference if the August day ends up costing more?

At this time, you can only upgrade a ticket in person at the ticket booth. And the system will not let you reserve a day if your ticket is not valid for it.

You'll need to wait until the tier calendar is available for your days to purchase a one day ticket.

I'm not sure about a 1 day ticket but I bought hoppers for Sept and was able to do it but my window to make reservations won't open till July. I did it because they were on sale and I just wanted to get it out of the way and now they are added to my app so when our window DOES open I am ready.
