I have a friend who wants to do 1 day at Magic Kingdom, 1 day at Animal Kingdom, and one day at Typhoon Lagoon. If she buys a 2 day Disney ticket with hopper option plus waterpark can she do Mk, AK, and Typhoon lagoon or does she need to buy a 3 day ticket because she will be spending 3 days at these parks?

Pretty sure if she is planning to use a day in MK, a day in AK, and a day at a water park, she would need a 3-day ticket. The only way she could get away with 2 (I believe) is if she just hopped on the MK and/or AK day.

Water park tickets can be used without using a park day. If she wants to go to water park and MK in the same day, she can. She could go to BB or TL and use one water park day. If she visits both in one day, she would use two water park days. You get as many water park days as theme park days. If she purchased two AK and MK days, she would get two water days.

2-day Hopper Plus will work.
But, it will be more economical to buy a 2-day Base ticket ( no Hopper) and a one-day Water Park ticket.

This is incorrect. A 2 day tickets will give her 2 major park days and 2 minor park entries.

But on 3 or 4 days?

A two day hopper plus means 2 days to hop between all 4 theme parks plus 2 entries into water parks. So two days in the theme parks then you can enter the water parks two times, not necessarily the same days as your park days. You could spread a 2 day ticket out over 4 days if you enter one water park a day ( not on the theme park days).

Interesting. I don't like water parks (or pools for that matter - anathema on here I know), so I never looked into it.
