I have always thought park tickets are non transferrable and that's what I told a friend. Her family went to WDW last year and had 9 day park hoppers with the no expiration option. Her son had to leave after only going to the parks 1 day for a business emergency. This year she, her husband, and grandchild are going. She says her son's 9 day ticket is till linked to her MDE and she thinks she it can be transferred to her husband. I disagreed and then she showed me when you click on the I button next to her ticket it says"

"Paperless Tickets that are expired, in-use or that were purchased as part of a package cannot be assigned to anyone else. Only the owner of a ticket may assign it to another Guest."

So that last sentence has her thinking her son who owns it can transfer it to his Dad. Is that possible?

No, that's only if the ticket hadn't been used. From their website,

After I link a ticket to my Disney account, can I reassign the ticket to someone else?

A.

Yes. If the ticket has not yet been used, you can reassign a ticket to another person on your Family & Friends list. To do so, visit the My Reservations section of My Disney Experience, locate the ticket you wish to reassign and select the “Reassign Ticket” link to the right of the ticket.

Tickets can be reassigned until their first usage. Once they are used, tickets cannot be reassigned.

To use tickets for theme park entry, all Guests must have an activeMagicBand or card. If you have tickets linked to your Disney account but you do not have an active MagicBand or card, please visit any theme park ticket window or Guest Relations location when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.

If the ticket has never been used, and it is not currently part of a room/tickets package, it can be transferred.

The issue you are going to have is that it appears her son's ticket was used. If it was used, it can't be transferred.

Once you check in, if you haven't used the tickets that are part of a package, can they be transferred to someone else? I could well be imagining things (or mixing things up in my mind) but I was thinking that unused package tickets could be moved to someone else.

I know that is not the case with the OP, that they did use a day but I'm thinking of a different circumstance, since it came up here.

Tickets can be separated from a package, but I believe that can only be done onsite at Guest Services. I'm not sure what happens when the person on the package gets to the end of the resort stay and never uses the ticket. At that point the ticket might be separated from the package and transferable if it has never been used, but ticket experts (CMs) may need to confirm.

Thanks. That is how I thought it worked but having never done it wasn't positive. I pretty sure if you don't do something the ticket will be used over any other ticketing the person has (like an AP)

Yeah, if there are other tickets on an account, the tickets need to be prioritized to make sure the package one remains unused.

Essentially, those two sentences should have been in separate paragraphs. The first refers to a used ticket, while the second refers to an unused ticket. But a quick reading of that paragraph can lead to misunderstanding - as it did here.
