Ticket Question

First let me say our upcoming trip is mainly about DISNEY.......but.....
My DS1 and I went to Islands of Adventure two years ago over Spring Break with his High school. We were "done" with all we wanted to do by 3pm and that was with riding HP twice!

We are now arriving with the entire family, 8 of us, and we have a huge variety of ages and interests. We are purchasing park to park tickets because HP is the main focus.....We are trying to decide whether to purchase one day or two day tickets. I do realize we won't get everything in so here is my question...

1) If you purchase one park tickets they allow you to upgrade to park-to-park.......If I purchase ONE day tickets will they allow me to upgrade to a two day if we decide it is necessary?

We have two days allotted but thought saving $380 might be nice and could be used toward the purchase of other things.

We would arrive an hour before the park opens and stay until closing. We are staying at Disney's Camp Grounds so we could sleep in on our extra day, shop at Downtown Disney, swim etc... and just take a relax day....

Personally, I'd go ahead and get the two day tickets. I'd plan on being at the park your first day at opening, but not staying until close. Go to DTD that night. Then the next day you could still sleep in at the campground, but go back and do more at US/IOA in the late morning/afternoon and evening.

The only things that can't be upgraded are complimentary tickets and the unlimited 14 day tickets.

you would need to upgrade the one day tickets to the 2 day tickets before the park closes that day you are there


if you feel you want to do both parks on that day you are there, you can upgrade those to a park to park ticket.
later that day if you decide you need one more day for the parks, upgrade before you leave the park.
you would have another park to park tickets then for the next day.
