Ticket question

We currently have the buy 2 get 1 day free ticket for our trip in June. We did not get the park hopper option. My question is if we want to upgrade to that option while in the park, will we only pay the difference off of the Internet rate or will they add in the extra $20 that it costs if you buy the ticket in the park. For a family of five, that could add up.

I believe it is the difference on the internet. I'm not 100% certain though.
