If this is the wrong forum, I apologize, just not sure where it should go!

I have a package deal booked for October. Currently, it's 7 day park hoppers for a 7 day trip. After booking, my aunt decided to come with us. After doing some math, and looking lots of stuff up, I plan to change our reservation to an 8 day trip.

What me and my two girls want is to spend the non park days at one of the water parks, so I want the WP&M pass. My aunt, however (who will be on our res, in our room) wants an extra park day, and no water parks.

Long story somewhat short- can I have just plain base tickets with my reservation, and upgrade them individually after we arrive? Ie: upgrade hers to a hopper with an extra day on it, and upgrade mine and the girls to a WP&M?

I went last February as a late addition to a friends res, and plane situation as it was, I got there early in the day, she arrived very late at night. I wound up upgrading all of our passes before we left so that I could do an extra park day. Afterwards, someone mentioned I should have waited and upgraded at the park for just myself.

So, can I?

Yes, not a problem at all. We've done this several times. Back when free dining required just a one day park ticket, we'd book free dining with one day park tickets for all of us, then since I'm an AP holder and didn't need a ticket, I'd just save mine for another trip and we'd go to guest services there in the resort and have them upgrade everyone else's one day ticket, to whatever they needed.

You can upgrade those tickets either at your resort guest services or at any guest services at the parks or DTD. (The only ticket your resort guest services can't upgrade to are the Annual Passes. Those you have to get at the park or DTD guest services.)

Once the tickets are actually issued each is independent of the others. If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #6, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!
