Ticket Question

I read the sticky and understand that YES tickets cannot be upgraded but do the expire if not used ?

Our situation: We all have AP's but kids want to do a YES class. It seems we must purchase the ticket package to do the class. We are required to purchase two as we must have an adult to chaperone. So we will have two basically useless tickets. If we do not use these can they be used for another trip when our AP's expire ? Thanks for any help.

When you order your tickets, you are required to give them your trip dates, the tickets will be good (I believe) for 7 days prior to the date you give them and 7 days after your dates. I have to check mine from last year to be sure. But they do expire and you would NOT be able to save them for use at a later date. Sorry

I just bought YES tickets. They are not good 7 days prior. I believe this is how it used to be done and is a recent change. When I bought the tickets, it asked for my trip dates and said they would be good from the beginning of my trip until 7 days after my trip.

So, yes they are only good for a limited time frame.

Just to be clear - this is not true for standard MYW tickets, just the YES tickets (and maybe other special tickets as well) - but regular tickets do not work this way and they do not expire if not used. So not relevant to the OP's question, but I didn't want others reading to get confused.

The OP question was about YES tickets, so this is correct information.

YES tickets have either a not valid before or a not valid after date, or both.

I would e-mail or call the Youth Programs as I believe you can sign up for a class without buying a ticket "package" from YES if you already have tickets for the parks. The cost is around $30. I was in the same boat as you when working up a trip that included extended family. My DD wanted to do the YES program with the other kids. I found the information about just paying for the program if you are an AP holder on a rather long thread about YES Individual Enrollment on either the Budget of Families forum. The rest of the family backed out of the trip before it even got to a point where I needed to inquire about it myself, so I never had the chance to verify the information myself.

I ran across this information more than a year ago. I might even be closer to two years, so things could very well have changed. I do know that the YES webpage says if you want to participate in more than one program during your stay you can just pay the $30ish dollars for the additional class(es).
