My family and I are visiting Orlando next month. We have been to both USF and IOA several times, and always spent 2 days there...but my wife thinks that, because we were just there last year, we can do both in 1 day this year. So here's my question: Our local AAA doesn't sell a 1 Day - 2 Park Pass...they have a 1 Day - 1 Park Pass for $ 140. Undercover Tourist has a 1 Day - 2 Park Pass for $ 124.

But my AAA also sells a 3 Day - 2 Park pass for "only" $ 140. I doubt that we will be able to do both parks in 1 day, as we go to Margaritaville around 6 - 7 PM after visiting the parks, so it won't be a late day at the parks. So do I spend the extra $ 16 and get 3 days at both parks, which I surely won't use for the 3rd day ?? If I buy the 1 day pass, I know it can be upgraded before you leave the park.

I could buy the 1 Day - 2 Park pass from Undercover Tourist, and upgrade it if I need to...but would the additional cost exceed $ 16 ????

What would you do ?????

I think I would go with the one day two park pass and then upgrade before you leave. That would make the most sense...to me at least. ;)

Perhaps you should check into the Costco 3 day ticket that doesn't expire for 3 years. You can use the days whenever you like and they are parkhoppers. You have to purchase them in-store and not all Costcos have them.

We don't have a Costco anyplace near us...two further questions:

If I buy my tickets from Undercover Tourist, I can upgrade them before leaving Universal, correct?

And what would be the additional cost to upgrade from the 1 - Day, 2 - Park pass to a 2 - Day, 2 - Park Pass ??? If it was around $ 16, then it would make sense to buy the 3 - Day pass from my local AAA, wouldn't it???

Yes you can upgrade and pay the difference of around $16.00. If you can get the three day ticket for the same, get that one but I thought you posted you were only going to be there two days and couldn't use the third day?

My rationale is that, if I can buy a 1 day - 2 park pass, then upgrade it for 1 more day, or buy a 3 day - 2 park pass, and the cost would be virtually the same, then I should go with the 3 day pass, just in case we somehow wanted to go back for a 3rd time...not likely, but for the same cost, why not have that flexibility??

Sounds like you just answered your original question.

op, use the search button to help with the question/difference in price to upgrade.

last week there was a question similar, if not the same, as yours.

i know i posted on it, damo did, phamton also.
phamton gave the price difference on upgrading.
