I have tried to type this three times and confused myself so I will try again.
For our upcoming trip we are not planning buying a park hopper. We had one last trip and honestly found it to be a waste of money because we did not go to more than one park a day. We plan to go to the parks 5 days. However, there are a few restaurants in Epcot we want to eat at. Since we won’t have a park hopper if we buy a 7 day park pass will we be able to use those extra two days to go into Epcot on the same day as being at another park? Like if we start the day in Animal Kingdom can we go to Epcot the same day and use one of those extra days?

TIA

No. One admission per day. You must have the hopper to enter another park.

You want to park hop without park hoppers? No. Im pretty sure Disney has figured out that $3 < $50

Harsh response. Disney can be a confusing place, so I understand the question. We are buying the park hopper this trip, but I doubt we'll use it all that much. But when we want to have lunch at the Brown Derby and then catch Illuminations, it feels worth it in the end.

In the end, it appears park hopper is more of a convenience than a necessity. It's all in how you view your time, I suppose. Any way you choose, though, you are still in Disney World, and that makes everything just dandy in my book.:thumbsup2

Good luck! And no matter what you decide, it's the right decision for you.

I am going to answer the question as asked...

I think if you get 7 1 day base tickets that are on your room key or part of your package, I would think no, you probably can't.

Now if you buy tickets from a ticket broker separately and they are not part of a package or if you buy directly from Disney separate 1 day tickets and they are not added to your room, I don't see why you couldn't! Not sure that is a money savings or not from just getting Park Hoppers to begin with.

No, you will have to use a park hopper to do what you are proposing.
Not sure if this will make a difference but maybe you should for now purchase the 5 day base ticket. When you get to WDW, plan for the days first that you know you'll stay at the park the entire day. Then maybe day 4 or 5, when you want to park hop, then get your remaining days upgraded at the front desk. That way your only paying for two days of park hopping as opposed to all 5.
I've never done this myself but I think I've read about others who have done this.

We are buying the package so the tickets will be on our key cards. The only reason I even thought of this was a friend had said it could be done. I didn't know and thought I would ask.

Thanks for all those who answered.

You would never have 7 1 day tickets on your room key as you can only have 1 ticket on your card. Of course, the days woulld vary based on what you purchase. 7 one day base tickets would be much more expensive than a 5day park hopper ticket. A one day ticket is almost $80 so you are talking about $560 worth of 1 day tickets. A 5 day park hopper is $290.

Adding the hopper option is $50 per ticket (plus tax, I believe). That is regardless of the number of days you want to hop. You can definately upgrade the ticket from non-hopper (base) to a hopper once you are there, if you feel the need to. But you cannot get a refund if you buy the hoppers in advance and then decide NOT to use that option.

With the base ticket, you are only allowed to enter one park per day. You can leave that park and come back to that same park the same day. But you will not be given enterance to a 2nd park on the same day without the hopper option. The turnstiles won't let you in.

Hopefully that helped and I'm not making it more confusing. The thing is that once you get to a 4 or 5 day hopper (can't recall which) it's only a matter of $3-4 per day to add another day. So instead of people just buying a 10day base ticket for 5 days (and going to 2 parks a day), you would have to pay the $50 hopper fee on the 5 day base ticket.

You can certainly upgrade at any time, within your 14 days of first use. However, you will pay the same amount for the hopper option regardless if it is 1 day or 10 days.

It only makes sense to delay adding the hopper if you are trying not to hop at all, but just feel the need to in the end. Or you have to wait to be able to afford it.

When you purchase a ticket, it is for the number of days to enter the park, not the number of park entries. The hopper must be added to go to more than one park in a single day.

You could purchase individual day tickets instead of the hopper option, but it would cost more money than the hopper option.

Just to clarify, the price for adding park hopping is not based on the number of days. There is only one price for the park hopping feature no matter the number of days on your ticket.

Oops. You're right. At the time I was thinking of no expiration.

Park Hoppers never really seem to work out for my family, even when we stayed at the BCV and BW..when I thought...how can you not use them a lot...we used them 1 day to walk through epcot to take the monorail to MK!

Did you say you could not find a place to eat in Epcot?...I don't want to sound harsh...but if you can't find something for everyone there....

What you can do, is leave epcot, go to the boardwalk/beach club/swan or dolphin..then return to EPCOT...

You can enter and exit ONE park as many times as you like!

IMO, the water park option is a better "park hopper"...get wet all day unitil 4/5/6, stop off, dry, rest, get a bite and hit another "park" at night

Just my 2 cents for free

No we found too many places to eat at Epcot. LOL That is the problem. We could eat there every single day of our trip.
