I live in Southern California. Can I purchase Southern California resident tickets for family members visiting from out-of-state?

They may ask for ID from each person, you may be able to do it for a child as they don't have ID, but they are not intended for people who reside outside of So. CA and I have heard that they DO ask for ID since a lot of people try get cheaper tickets by having someone else buy them.

Yes, they may have to show ID. If you buy the tix and then they can't use them, what would you do?

Hmmmm, I have always read on this board and others that a S. Cal resident can purchase up to 8 tickets at the S. Cal rate and only one person in the party needs to show proof of residency, so if you are going to the parks with your family, there shouldn't be a problem.

I copied this from mousesavers:

Tickets are valid 30 days from first use. First use must occur between 1/6/09 through 6/3/09. Each day of use constitutes one full day of use. May purchase up to eight tickets per person per day with valid ID. Tickets may not be sold or transferred for commercial use. Offer may not be combined with other discounts or promotions. Subject to restrictions and change without notice.

Yup, DangerMouse is right! So Cal tickets are available for So Cal Residents to be able to by themselves and their family and friends no matter where they come from tickets to spend a day in the parks together.

I have bought tickets for many family members who came in to visit with us. I was asked to show my ID and that was it, no ID's needed at the gate, because the other's using the tickets do not have to be So Cal Residents, you just have to show one at purchase. BTW you don't even have to pay for the tickets, my Nor Cal Aunt bought her's no problem after they saw my ID since I have an Ap.

There is an official Disneyland site, and it says ..

Tickets valid for Southern California residents within ZIP codes 90000-93599 and Northern Baja California residents within ZIP codes 21000-22999. Proof of residency required for admission.

Yes it says that, but it also says this on the official site

• Tickets valid for Southern California residents within ZIP codes 90000-93599 and Northern Baja California residents within ZIP codes 21000-22999. Proof of residency required for admission.

• May purchase up to 8 tickets per person per day with valid ID. Tickets may not be sold or transferred for commercial use. Offer may not be combined with other discounts or promotions. Offer not valid before 01/06/09. Subject to restrictions and change without notice.

So again the accept thought and what I have been told at the ticket office is that these tickets can be purchased for your friends and family going to the park with you.

What the official Disneyland site says, and what people experience at the parks are quite often two completely different things.

No one has accused Disney of enforcing its rules strictly 100% all the time. This is why you often see reports of "poor treatment" when a guest ran into a CM who follows policies to the letter.
