Ticket Question ??

I have a chance to get some tickets at a good price, but my friend says they are all adult tickets, can my 2 littles ones use a adult ticket, or will there be a problem??

Let me add that these tickets look different then the ones I'm used to, they actually look kinda like the keys we were given at the resorts? Has anyone ever seen tickets like this before? She says her boss gave them to them as a gift and she won't be going this year to use them.
They sure would come in handy, but if I can't use them for my little ones, not much use for them?

i have a feeling some details are being left out here for reasons that are unclear to me. if they're brand new tickets, the kids can use them, but they'll have to use the scan which can be a problem for those that are more height-challenged.

if they're partially used, it's more of a grey area. pre-MYW, yes, as long as they haven't been used at all in the 2 years or so. MYW tickets, not likely.

Could these be partially used tickets from someone's trip? If so, I wouldn't do it. The tickets would have a biometric scan attached to them and the scan wouldn't match when you attempt to use them. It would be pretty obvious with the kids that there was an issue.

I just thought the way these looked was weird cause I had never seen a ticket like that before only as a key for a Disney resort??
Just thought I'd ask, cause I'd hate to pay her for them get down there and have a problem, would be a waste of money and time, ya know??!!

If the tickets are unusued Adult tickets then you should have no problem letting your children use them. Disney would rather people spend the extra for the Adult tix, trust me.

Be careful with this third party ticket purchasing, though.

I agree with the others that say be very careful with this purchase. Anytime that we have purchased tickets (either for hard-ticket events or passes) they have been a hard paper type, never a ticket that looks like a resort key. They could be old pre-MYW tickets (not sure) that are unused but... they could be tickets that were partially used and are 'tied' to a name already. If you already have a trip planned I'd budget to buy tickets that you are 100% sure are legit rather than risk buying tickets that you find out at the entrance you can't use.

Those are ticket vouchers which are exchanged for tickets at any ticket window, and have DEFINITELY never been used.

My P & P Party tickets that just came in the mail look like resort keys, kind of like a credit card. So, maybe that's the way they all are now? We used our room key last year, as the tickets were included in the package. Hope that helps!

That is true, ours did as well. Perhaps all online/phone order tickets are sent on hard cards. Tickets purchased at the ticket window are still on cardstock.

I'd say, better safe than sorry.... I'd hate to see someone get a "good deal" and then get there and find they don't work. We just got our MVMCP tickets and they are credit card/resortkey sized and each have Character designs on them. We have 6 tickets in 4 different designs. What does the back of the "tickets" your friend has say? Is there a magnetic stripe on it? Any scratches on the stripe to indicate they may have been used? Also a date on the back may help determine if they are the older or newer tickets.

ok just talked to her, she said they look like a hotel key that has the exp. date on it of 12/31/07 and says adult, but where someones name would ordinarily be is blank. She said her boss gave them to all his employees.
When she explained them I took out my keys from our last trip at the POP and it seemed like it resembles those, but instead of Cindy's castle in the corner it is a pic of Mickey........

If it's a pic of Mickey, they're probably just hard tickets ordered online. If they've never been used, you should be just fine. You say you're buying these from a friend... surely you'll be able to work something out if they turn out to be a dud.

true, she wouldn't do me wrong, not intentionally anyway. I just doubt their boss would give them bad tickets right?? I mean she works for a decent company for this area. She's not using them anyway, so what I pay her is a profit to her regardless, if something did go wrong I know she'd give me my money back, no problem.

If these are indeed unused adult tickets I would take them to GS and see if you can get them exchanged into children's tickets with add'l days for furture use (ie. trade in the higher value of the adult ticket into a higher day count child's ticket). It's worth it to inquire.

not sure, we stayed at POP, we had bought our tickets through the military so had to take the green certificate cards to the ticket booth and DH showed his ID for the exchange for real tickets. The next morning when we went through the line at MK we all had to scan our fingers, and each time the next 3 days. Maybe it was because they were Florida residents tickets?? Not sure, but all 5 of us did it??
