My son turned 8 in September and we are going to the world at the end of october and I am thinking about buying the 1longer day ticket (possibly 10) - no expiration option but will only use 3-4 days. If we dont make it back to the world before my son turn 9 (I doubt we will as we are going to South Africa) in 2007 so next trip may not be till 08-09?

We he be able to convert the ticket (for a fee or for free) to a ticket valid for a 10 or 11 year old

Unless the rules change - yes. Smart thinking, too - since ticket prices always rise :)
