Ticket question, upgrading

I need to add a couple more days onto my ticket. Does anyone know if I can do so without going to the park/Disney Springs, since I do not live in the area? If this isn't possible, is it possible to have a friend in the area go on my behalf to add on the days? The main reason I have for upgrading in advance is Fastpass +.

I read that and couldn't find an answer, since there is a lot of conflicting info. Thanks for the info. Going to have to figure out how to work this out.

When and from whom did you purchase your ticket? There shouldn't be any conflicting info in that thread, but rather there are many very specific scenarios.

If you bought the ticket directly from Disney you can call Ticketing and ask if you can add days. If it is part of a Disney MYW package it can be upgraded and some posters have said that if they purchased tickets only from Disney they were also able to add days.

If the tickets were purchased from a third party reseller (e.g. Undercover, AAA, Maple Leaf) upgrades would have to be done in person.

Disney directly. I found info on this site that said you can add on by phone and elsewhere that said you have to in person, hence the confusion.

As part of a package? Or separately? If you purchased them separately, you should be able to call ticketing and have them exchange the tickets for ones with more days. You're asking them to refund the original tickets and sell you new ones. Technically, tickets are non-refundable, but when you're paying them more money, they'll make an exception. But only if you purchased separately and directly from Disney.

If the tickets are part of a current package, you can always change them. There may be an additional fee if you're within three days of arrival.

If the tickets are left over from a prior package, then they must be upgraded in person.

If you call Disney directly, they can quickly tell you what changes can be made over the phone. Last time I had a similar need for upgrade and they knew all of my options right away.
