ticket question- the new date based/expiring tickets

we were supposed to have a trip May 2020- had the new tickets that "expire"... Disney extended the date to September 2021 because of the COVID closures- we have not been able to find a time to get our large party all together to go before that time ( most of us work in healthcare!)- I have been on the phone on hold for over an hour trying to talk to someone....does anyone know if it is possible to get the "use by" date extended and how would I go about doing that? TIA

Call Disney. They won't give you a refund but they will let you use the tickets as a "credit" towards the tickets you do end up using. 99% sure that is your answer.

I don't expect they would extend the 9/26/2021 date outright -- if so, consider it pixie dust! As PP states, you can use the value of those tickets towards new dates in 2022 or later. If you know those new dates now, you can call to get the tickets adjusted now (and pay any extra due for the new dates). If a future date is yet unknown, just make note now of the ticket numbers because they will likely disappear from view after 9/26/2021 but WDW can still "see" and access them for the upgrade when you are ready to do so.

yay thanks so it wont be a total loss thanks!! we plan on going just will likely be next year! We have a fully pain 2 bedroom suite we have to use by 2022

Hopefully yours were non-discounted. I have 5 -7 day cdn discounted passes finally got through and with border closure (still hasn’t reopened) and my oldest now being in college we are stuck looking at a Christmas trip.. and it’s an additional $1175, I just don’t know it’s worth that with the crowds at Christmas .
