I purchased tickets from Undercovertourist a while back. I got 10 day tickets for myself, DH and DD's. My DS got a 6 day ticket because he was not going to stay the whole 2 weeks we will be gone. Now he has the opportunity to stay the whole time and I need to make his ticket a 9 day instead of 6 day.

I called WDW and they said that they cannot upgrade the ticket. They said to call UCT (and they are closed now) to see if there is anything they can do.

She also said that if I make his ticket a 9 day ticket (from a 6 day ticket) that I would have to pay the price difference between UCT price and WDW price AND then also the $10 or so per day. Is this right? I thought if you had a ticket they didn't ask you what you paid for it (since it is discounted a bit) and I would only have to pay the extra $10 or so per day (about $30ish). She said I would have to do this at Guest Relations when we get there (we leave in 18 days). My concern was copying our FP+ to his so I wanted to extend his ticket before we go.

A ticket upgrade needs to be done in person at a guest relations location within 14 days of its first use. It cannot be done over the phone.

The CM was wrong about the price bridging. To price bridge, have your son use his ticket first and then go to guest relations. You will owe the difference between the current gate prices of a 6-day ticket ($334.41) and 9-day ticket ($366.36).

Use it first, then you should be able to add days at $10/day plus tax. This can be done at any ticket window, not just GR.

Thanks so much! I thought I remembered reading that you could just pay the $10 a day difference. The CM was saying no, I had to pay the difference of the cost from UT and WDW as well. She was saying that it didn't matter if we had used the ticket yet or not. You guys have the real info! Use it first and then I don't have to pay the difference:good vibes Just hope I can get the same FP+ that we have for the rest of us at that time. Thanks so much:thumbsup2

I agree with everyone else. Use the ticket to enter a theme park first, then upgrade at Guest Relations at the park (located inside and outside the front gate), before the sixth day on the ticket is done. Just as you experienced a Disney phone rep who told you the ticket could not be bridged to current gate price, there are also Disney reps at the parks who say this (in ignorance, I guess). If you get told a price that is more than $30 + tax $1.95 = $31.95, ask if they bridged your ticket. If they give you any static at that point, politely ask for the ticket back and see another Disney rep in Guest Relations (even at another GR location). You are in the right, and Disney has a policy in place to do this transaction.

Thanks for that advice! I will ask for someone else if they tell me I have to pay the difference plus the $10. AK is our first day park so we will upgrade it on our way out of the park that afternoon!

There is a Guest Relations just INSIDE the main park entrance to the far right of the gates (as you exit the park.)

That same Guest Relations has windows just OUTSIDE the park gates as well.

(Same GR office, two sets of windows.)

Be aware that you may get a CM that wants you to pay more than the "bridged" price. I had a CM in March and her supervisor that wanted me to pay an extra $80 per ticket to upgrade to AP's because Disney doesn't bridge older tickets anymore (mine were 2 years old). They were certain that was now Disney's official policy and would not budge on the price. I got back my tickets and went to another guest services locations and upgraded the tickets with no problems whatsoever.

Just be aware that not all CM's are as knowledgeable or helpful as others and you might have to go to multiple guest service locations to upgrade for the correct price. Plan some extra time, just in case.

Thanks for that info:good vibes I will try another park/place if they don't just charge me the $10/day upgrade :thumbsup2
