Ticket question for use during the week of Xmas.

OK family of 4. I have one premium AP and the rest of our annual passes will expire by Xmas.

Can I upgrade these to premium AP's and pay the additional cost to use during the week of Christmas?

I also thought about buying 7 day park hoppers and using them and upgrading to the Gold AP at the end of the Xmas week trip. Can I do this?

You’re talking about Gold passes? If so, and if they’ve been activated, you can upgrade them in person at WDW, but not in advance. If they aren’t activated, you should be able to do a return/exchange over the phone to get the passes you need.

Yes, that seems to be an allowed loophole to get around the blackout dates.

If your tickets expire before Christmas, you can renew them but the renewal will start at end of the old ticket.

You will have to still be at WDW on January 4th to qualify for the gold pass upgrade as the blocked out days extend to January 3rd.

You can upgrade during the blackout period. You just cannot enter a park after upgrading.

All gold AP’s are valid for 366 days, like regular AP’s. It seems odd, but they can begin/expire during a “blackout”

I was actually trying to say that he couldn't use the pass until January 4th. Thanks for helping to clarify better.
