Ticket Prices going up 6/01/03

I am going tonite to get my Premium Annual Pass at
the Disney Store...Their prices have always been the
same as the gate at WDW(unless you have DC or Florida
residency). I was going to buy my PAP at the airport when
we arrived at MCO, just because it was easier and they
activated your pass immediately(I understand from other
threads that sometimes if you are getting an AP rate on
your room, sometimes they asked to have you pass
activated first...makes it hard to do that when you arrive late
to MCO)
I would suggest going to buy them today so you don't have
to pay any extra!

Can't wait!

If anyone knows FOR SURE if AP's are going up at TDS please post the info. -- TDS CM's or anyone.

I am really confused. I thought just the at time of purchase gate tickets were going up?

Kilee -- the AP's have been the same price at TDS and at the gate, that is where the confusion lies. I can't get a straight answer from TDS or Disney Club line about AP's going up or not. Other tickets you would get a discount by buying in advance at TDS. I guess those prices are staying the same.

Does this affect UPH tickets which are included in packages like the FTP???

Someone else has posted this question a few times in the thread, hopefully someone can answer this!

Thanks,
Diznee25

I too am surprised that Disney would raise the price twice in one year! Even if it's for gate prices, still that's too soon!

I'll try to locate a TDS today, but the one I frequented was recently closed.....so I'm not sure where to go. I was going to do the purchase over the phone or online this weekend anyway.

Thanks.

There is a Disney store in the Burlington Mall if the one at Faneuil Hall has closed.

No because UPH's purchased as part of a package like FT are advance purchases. But it would affect UPH's that are purchased at resort check-in.

AP's are not going up.

I was just going to post that link. AP's are safe, thank goodness. I am going tomorrow and may be upgrading from my seasonal pass to an annual pass. I figured my luck APs would go up as well, but phew this time. :teeth:

Here is the text of the article in case not everyone wants to click through:
A day at the Magic Kingdom will cost you a bit more beginning Sunday.

Walt Disney World's one-day ticket prices at its four parks are going up by $2, to $52 for adults and $42 for children, plus tax.

A Disney spokesman said Friday that the increase, the park's first since September, is being made "for business reasons" but is not tied to any forecast for summer attendance.

"There's no message here about performance," said Rick Sylvain. "Even with the increase, our ticket prices still represent a great entertainment value."

SeaWorld and Universal Orlando raised their prices last January, and Disney held the line at that time, as the tourist industry remained in a slump because of the weak economy and terrorist concerns.

But Disney did not leapfrog the competition by much in the price increase announced Friday -- besting SeaWorld's and Universal's adult price by a bare nickel. Disney's children's ticket remains 95 cents lower than the competition.

Representatives for SeaWorld and Universal said they had no comment on Disney's increase, which also affects multiday "park hopper" prices but not annual pass holders. Disney's four-day adult pass rises to $208 from $199 and the five-day pass to $269 from $259. Certain discount deals, such as for Florida residents, are unchanged.

SeaWorld spokeswoman Becca Bides said the marine-life adventure park, which recently unveiled a dining, shopping and entertainment district, has "no plans at this time" to raise prices.

Jim Canfield, spokesman for Universal, said his company does not discuss "pricing or ticketing strategy."

i'm a bit confused. i thought the current at gate price was $208 w/o tax. i called the dc number and the price was $208. does this mean they have changed it already? i'm going to wdw june 11-16 and we are debating whether or not my friend should get a hopper pass. i have an ap so it does not matter to me. however, i have a friend that works at wdw and he said he could put her down as a guest at the different parks. granted i have no idea exactly how this works so my friend may just buy a pass. i believe the price at the disney store is the same as the gate price? is that correct? if so, my question is- how long does it take to get the tickets if you order through cro, dc, or the website? do they fedex the tickets? thanks for any info. i'm starting to stress out about the trip and i'm trying to keep costs down for my friend. any help is greatly apreciated. thanks!

I just got off the phone with the TDS in Nashua NH and Burlington

4 Day Hopper $204.48 adult

No discount for Disney Club Members?

5 Day hopper $263.07 adult
Discount for Disney Club Members?

Called the DC Res. and was told the price of 4 Day $204.48
plus shipping charge of $3 for the total tixs in one order.

All said no price change has will be at those locations?

I have found in the past if there is a price change all are affected and the computers lead the way.

THE MAGIC HAPPENS????????????????
 ;) ;)

www.orlandotripplanner.com has the new GATE prices on their message board - apparently the new prices INCLUDE tax which is I think 6.5%:
A four day adult hopper with tax at the gate is now (on 6/1) $221.52.

Guys, I hate to tell you, but I've talked to 3 different CM's over the phone at the CRT # and yes ALL tickets, passes, and UPH's are going up tomorrow, June 1st! It's all very hush, hush. I had to tell two of the CM's who didn't know it until they confirmed this with their supervisor.

I went to my local TDS at 11:00 a.m. to purchase a 4 day park hopper for my son's 21st birthday tomorrow. He isn't going until Aug, but I thought it would make a great gift. I got as far as writing the check when they told me they couldn't process the order because the computers were down. I went to another TDS an hour ago (5:00 p.m.) and they were still down.

Now, my question is that although the CMs at TDS said the prices for the tickets bought there would NOT go up......what is to say tomorrow Disney won't change their tune and charge me more for that ticket?

Since UPH are supposed to increase as well, does that mean those of us who are booking the FTP are going to get and increase in our amount due?

I went to TDS in Braintree, MA this morning to buy our passes for next week. After the credit card went through the tixkets would not!!!! The CM had to cancel the transaction but the SM said my CC won't be credited for 48 hours. She said there has been a problem with the computers since Friday. She suggested I call back this evening since the computer should be up and running but guess what? It still isn't. I aske the CM about the price increase and he said he doesn't know anything about that!!!! Now that makes me angry! Annmarie

After reading this thread I went out to my Disney Store today to purchase tics. Indeed the computers were down in WDW and so they could not process any tickets. I left but called later and they said the ticket prices are only going up in the state of Fla. no where else. Maybe as an incentive to buy your tics in advance in other states. Anyone else hear anything like this?
