Ticket prices expected to go up Sunday

I just purchased my 7 day non-expiration ticket yesterday assuming that there would be a ticket increase today. Haven't heard anything about it though.

Yeah, it seems to be delayed from when the rumors theorized it would happen.

FYI, you posted on the Disneyland forum, and I believe you meant to post on the WDW one (theme parks attractions and strategies). :) You're totally welcome here, of course! :goodvibes

Well sunday came and gone and no price increase:cool1: except it seems like it will be coming this wk:sad2: This was posted on mouseplanets Disneyland resort update this wk:

Ticket prices to go up
Disneyland regulars know that the annual ticket price increase was announced the first weekend of August for the past several years, but it seems the Resort broke with tradition and will announce the new pricing at the same time Walt Disney World releases their new rates this week. We've been told that the new rates will go into effect on Thursday, August 5, and that details will likely be released sometime on Tuesday.

So I'm hoping they will release the info tomorrow and give us time to purchase the tickets before Thursday!

FWIW- I should just buy them today but I would like to know the new prices before I do(I have no idea why that would make me feel better:confused3)

^^This is basically what 3Minnies1Mickey told us a couple of times earlier in this thread, and Bumbershoot said something similar. So this much was already known.

If I were you, I would just go ahead and buy the tickets now. Don't wait on a possible press release or possible advance info and risk the prices suddenly going up in the blink of an eye, when you're not looking and before you have had a chance to get yours.

I'm waiting too. Besides the fact my trip is up in the air, 3+ day PHs only went up $5 last year. Not a big enough jump for me to......jump! :yay:

I'm glad someone was listening....I kinda felt like I was talking to my kids (aka being ignored! :rotfl2:)

I was listening (and reading!)! I know the feeling (even though I don't have kids to talk to!:rotfl2:). It happens on this board from time to time and it can be frustrating!

It was noted on another message board that once the announcement was made they frooze online sales of tickets until after the new price went into effect...so if you are waiting for an announcement to make your purchase you might be too late.

I don't *think* this is true. If you go to Disneyland.com you can purchase tickets same as always. No, I didn't go so far as entering payment, that's why I said *think*, but nothing from Disney has been said at al about ticket prices and freezes

My understanding is that this was not the case last year... I'm banking on it not being the case, anyway :lmao:

I'd be shocked if Disney actually froze online ticket sales for two days a year before price increases went into effect. Online ticket sales save them a lot of labor (think how long the ticket booth lines could get if everyone who didn't have an AP had to wait in those lines once during their trip!). Plus even after the price increases, the online prices usually beat the gate prices, so there would be a couple days when people who were buying at the last minute or on a whim would be forced to buy more expensive tickets at the gate, which I reckon would lead to a lot of complaints.

Not saying it couldn't happen, but I'd be surprised and I didn't hear of it happening last year, either. :confused3

We took the plunge and bought our tickets. I doubt there will be a "deal" this fall with WOC being so popular and the Halloween and Christmas seasons bringing in so many people.

We did buy through LMT though, so if a good deal did come out we could always cancel our current tickets and get a new set through Disneyland.com (I love that LMT allows refunds up until the vouchers are turned in for tickets)

good to know....
