I called Costco because I will be leaving my home 12 days before my West Coast Cruise. They told me that my "tickets" won't even be printed by then so I have to do a port pick up. When I questioned them about the shore excursions she said she'd mail out those docs now but I'd have to pick up my "tickets" at the port. Anyone have experience with this? Also, what exactly are they talking about "tickets" Do I need them? Won't my name be in the computer and all I need is my id to prove my identity. I'm debating on having my tickets mailed to a friend who won't be leaving until a week before our cruise. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks. :confused3

THere's a desk at the terminal in Florida where you can go to get "replacement" cruise documents. I assume that they will have the same thing for the west coast cruises. Have your TA notify DCL that you will be leaving home more than 2 weeks before your cruise (I realize that's a little bit of a stretch - but close) and that you need your cruise doc's BEFORE then. We had this situation a few years ago and DCL got us our documents before we left home.

As for your excursion documents / tickets. If you sign up for a DCL excursion before the cruise, your excursion tickets and "waiver of liability" form should be in your room when you board or delivered to you on the first day of the cruise.

Thanks jrabbit. When they say tickets what exactly are they talking about? I'm thinking of having my stuff mailed to my friend...but just in case it doesn't get to her before she leaves I'm trying to figure out what I'll do. I'll still be able to get on board without these "tickets" won't I? I guess bottom line is I'm trying to figure out how necessary these "tickets" are.

All the tickets are are pre-printed sheets that you have to fill-out prior to boarding. You don't need them to access the port, just to check-in. There are TONS of duplicates available for you to fill-out. All you'll do is fill out these forms at the port, there is really no need for the documents prior to arriving to the port, though the neat little box they come in is cute. Mine were actually missing a the embarkation page (the main one) in 3 out of the 4 ticket books we received. Not a problem, I just filled them out at the port. The only problem I could forsee is if you plan on using DCL transfers prior to your cruise. There is a voucher in there that is torn out by DCL personel prior to getting on the bus.

I am cruising in May and for bus transfers have been told that if they are booked you just need to turn up at the dcl desk at the airport and your name is on the manifest and they also can produce your baggage tags there.
