We are going on our first trip to WDW in March. It will be DW, DH(39), and DD's (6 &4). We are staying at the Dolphin. What kind of tickets would you buy for 6 1/2 days at WDW. I know we will need to spend more than one day at some of the parks, so park-hopping will be a must. I also think that my daughters will need some rest time built into their day if we are going to be watching fireworks at night! I was going to buy 6 day hopper passes, thinking we would not need the pluses, but they do not sell those. Do you think my DD's would enjoy a day at Blizzard Beach? Or should we just lay low at the Grotto Pool for the day?
Thank-you for thoughts and advice!!

I would go for the day at Blizzard Beach. We haven't taken any kids there yet, but we love it and they have a big kids area and lots of sutff for them to do. We can't wait to take our baby there in June, even though she'll only be 3 months old then! The grotto pool would be fun, but probably not for too long, whereas at Blizzard Beach your kids will be occupied for as long as you want to stay there.

I don't know if your 6.5 days includes your arrival and departure days, but your options are:

1.) Park Hopper Pass ($824.68 for your whole family for 5 days, including tax)

2.) Park Hopper Plus Pass ($1062.92 for your whole family for 6 days, including tax)

3.) Ultimate Park Hopper ($1072.72 for your whole family for 5 nights/6 days, including tax)

4.) Annual Pass ($1447.96 for your whole family, including tax)

Before you can choose, I would sit down and make a rough itinerary of what you want to do.

With two kids, one as young as four, I would highly reccomend one day of nothing. Maybe staying at the pool, maybe a stroll around Downtown Disney, but I would build in a day of rest.

Something else to consider is whether or not you plan on going back. If you build a day of rest into your itinerary, but still purchase a 6 day park hopper plus, you can bring back any unused days. Even if you decide not to use any of the options (the 6 day park hopper plus passes come with THREE options), those never expire either. So you can bring them back when you're ready to use them!

I would definitely stay away from the Ultimate Hopper, and the Annual Pass. Too expensive for options you probably won't use.

Also, as an aside, if you purchase your tickets from Ticketmania.com, your total for a 6 day park hopper plus would be $1050 for your whole family, including tax and shipping. Not a huge savings, but a little. :)

With hopper plus passes...

Instead of a day of "nothing", do Blizzard Beach on the day you are planning not to go into the big theme parks. This way the day used for BB does not count as a "day" on the hopper plus passes.

We were there for 8 day and bought 7 day park hopper plus passes. We are back and have 2 days left and all 4 pluses. For us, a day in each park except MK (We went 2 days b/c we had ressies @ Cindy's)was plenty. We stayed at the dolphin over Thanksgiving. Went to the Parks the first 5 days and then we veg'd out at the dolphin. My kids loved the pool. We stayed there all day Thanksgiving and the following day. and the last day my DD7 and I went to DTD and my DH and DS played golf. Take time to rest. The pool is great!!!!! We now are planning another trip to use our 2 days and 4 pluses.

I second that! Definitely pick a day to do nothing. Get the 5 day with plusses, plan one day at BB (if you enjoy water).

Save the leftovers on the passes for another visit, or if you are all feeling energetic, you can go for all 6 days to the park.

I would get nothing less than 5 day park hopper plus passes, and preferably the 7 day park hopper plus passes for your stay.

This way you will not waste unused park days if you chose to do a shopping/pool/rest day, or just want to spend a day at the water parks. When my daughters were younger, we always spent a day away from the parks swimming, resort hopping, shopping, etc...

The best part is you can save the unused days towards a future visit

BTW, if you are a member of AAA, check with the local office or web site on discounted passes for WDW. My local AAA sells the 6 day park hopper plus passes.
