There is a discussion on a Dutch forum about park tickets and i want to check the information here.

On the forum somebody says that since 2009 you can't upgrade a ticket from example 6 to 10 days in the parks anymore.

This is what the original question is:
If i buy a 6 day ticket thru another vender then Disney for example Undercover Tourist can i upgrade this ticket to a 10 day ticket at the park??

Can i upgrade this ticket to an annual pass at the park??

Would Disney charge me the difference between the tickets in disney prices or from the price i original paid to the disney price (UT is cheaper then the Dinsey price)

The upgrades would be done the first day of use of the 6 day park ticket.

Is this thru that since 2009 you can't upgrade the tickets anymore??
And does somebody know what Disney would charge??

Thanks for the help.

I don't see why you would not be able to upgrade. Disney is always ready to take more money.

Disney will probably not give the discount that Undercover Tourist gives, but why wouldn't they want you to stay, play and spend more in the parks?

I upgraded to an AP in the parks and here's what I experienced:

- I bought my 10-day park hopper at the officialticketcenter.com for their discounted price right before the last price hike
- Upon arriving at WDW I went to Guest Relations at MK and asked to upgrade to an AP.
- The CM basically exhanged my ticket to set it at the Current Gate Price (what it would have cost if I bought it that day)
- I then paid the difference b/w that CGP and the AP price

Basically - I saved money b/c of the officialticketcenter pricing - the only way for non-FL residents to get an AP discount as far as I'm aware.
You can actually do your upgrade within 14 days of the ticket's first use.
Hope that helps.

PS: This thread might help - it has answers from a CM who works ticketing.

They recommend you use a day of your ticket first so Disney has to give you full value for the ticket you are trading in.

Ooh - yes - my fault!

Absolutely use it to get into a park - b/c they cannot convert it to CGP without one use.

In December, my daughter's friend, who had purchased his ticket through Expedia, wanted to add a day to his ticket. The CM tried to do it, but the computer would not allow it. She went back and checked, and tickets sold through Expedia could not be upgraded. However, she did issue him a free one day park hopper, which I thought was so considerate. I know that in reality, Disney was making more by him going with us to the park, but it was still such a nice thing to do. We were treated respectfully, and even given buttons.

Here is a link to a sticky that should answer your question. I have upgraded an UT ticket. Just be careful of Expedia.

There are definitely tickets that cannot be upgraded.

Any ticket where it has been more than 14 days since the ticket was first used cannot be upgraded.

So if you have partially used admission from before Magic Your Way, that never expired, or if you have Magic Your Way tickets with the non-expiration option from your trip 5 years ago - you must use that admission as is. Disney won't upgrade it.

Maybe that's where the posters on the other forum are getting confused? :confused3

We are going on the Podcast cruise. On Friday I am going to drive to Jacksonville to meet some co-workers but my husband is going to go to Epcot for one day to see the Flower and Garden Show. Does anyone have any suggestions about purchasing a one day ticket? Are there any discounts available such as AAA? Can a one day ticket be pre-purchased? When I looked on the Dreams Unlimited site they appear to only have tickets that start at three days.

very clever!!

I also did the ticket upgrading in the past.

But what has been said on that forum is that this is no longer possible with tickets from another vender then Disney i'm specificly talking about Undercover Tourist and officialticketcenter and that kind of venders).

This new rule should be rhere since the beginning of 2009??

Does anybody know if this is thru that the rules have ben changed since 2009???
