Ticket gurus. I need some help

I have a gold AP as I am a dvc member. It expires Jan 3.

We are going dec 30-Jan 6. My gold AP is blacked out until Jan 2.

If I buy a new ticket, can I use it to enter the parks on dec 30-Jan 2 and then can I use it to bridge towards the cost of an AP renewal?

Let's complicate this further. I am Canadian.do I understand correctly that if I buy a ticket from wdw directly to get the 25% off deal I can't bridge, but if I buy from an external provider I can?
