ticket discounts for DVC members

I needed a studio for Nov 23 and I got a very helpful MS person.

He told me that they had been told to be ready for a ticket discount - when they ask when - they were told soon -

so any guesses - I am hoping for an annual pass discount before the holidays

what is your guess?

Thanks for sharing! If true, I hope it goes into effect VERY soon! We have 2 upcoming trips so it would be great to have this discount in place before we go in mid-October!!

it would be nice it would be like monday. i need to renew our APs. i'm sure all of you who have a september expiration date got that passholder letter w/the discounted price. if the DVC member gets a better rate, then i certainly would like that!

It would be just my luck. I've already purchased my next AP voucher (sans discount). But it sure would be great the next time I have to renew the family's APs.

If they offer a discount, how long will it be in effect? We are just sending our papers back to The Timeshare Store, so as long as Disney doesn't execute ROFR, we should be finished by 10/6.

I hope we can still get the discount then!

the letter we received said save $40 per pass. but we must renew before our anniversary date. this is for just a regular adult AP. the amount due would be 361.04. the crazy thing is my husband received a letter but i did not! and we have the same annivesary date!

Well of course they'll offer a discount now!!! I just bought and activated my first APs on 8/14!!! You can bank on anything I buy getting discounted within one month after I buy it!!

To those who just bought an AP (and we just activated ours in May): if a permanent AP Discount for DVC owners is really added, the savings over the next 38 - 50 years will more than make up for missing it this time.

If there is an AP discount on the horizon, I hope they implement it prior to our December trip. Mom's AP expires in December, mine at the end of May.

I'll not EXPECT the discount, but certainly hope for the best

Actually, though they don't tell you...there is a one month grace period if you renew in person. For instance, if your current pass expires 8/31/04 and you arrive for your next WDW trip on 9/13/04 you will get the renewal price if you renew at WDW...it will be dated to expire on 8/31/05.

An AP discount would make the most sense... We don't buy AP's currently, opting for PHP instead... rationing our time $$$ in the parks.

If I were WDW, I would NOT offer PHP discounts. If an AP is close enough, us PHP customers might come up and meet them 1/2 way... On the other hand, if they also discount the PHP media, I might be more inclined to stay with PHP. WDW wants those upgrades, and SSR guests... DVC wants to sell more SSR contracts.

It's a great deal for both business units.

as been proved - WDW will do what is the best in their interest....not ours...

Anyway with my luck it will only be for those PAP - not the AP - and I still won't buy it.....

hoping for the annual pass - boy it would be great if it was next month - but who knows what soon is to a DVC executive - soon to them might be next year....I hope not that is a long time to wait for a soon discount....

The 10% UPH discount is still the only one currently in effect.
