ticket dilemma.....such a hard choice

our dates for our Dec trip are 12/18---2/28. We will be at WL by 3p.m. on the 18th, and are switching to the Dolphin and do not need to leave there 'till 5:30 p.m. on the 28th. SO, we have 9 full days and 2 partial days. We had orig thought the 7/4 PHP would be enough, but now with the mega-crowd concerns, and TL closed for rehab(kids not too crazy for BB) we are starting to think about the AP's. $400 over what we thought, and DS really wants to go to NY and DC next summer so the odds of a return trip are slim in a year. I do get back to Fl., but usually to Naples to see family...4 hours from WDW. Maybe we should stick with the 7/4 and do other non-park things on the partial days and on the 1 remaining full day.....or will we really need all the time to hit the parks?

It's so difficult to know how many you'll need. I wish you could get plus options at for Disney Quest. Water parks in December seem iffy enough, if you have little ones you don't need Pleasure Island, I don't know. Maybe the 5 day plain hopper and a Seaworld day or something??? I know you're thinking 5 won't be enough...hmmm... maybe the 7 day is the only way UNLESS you could get the length of stay at the Dolphin? Then you'd have DQ if you didn't need every minute in the parks?

Just had a thought, go for the 7 day php and then if it's looking like it's not enough day 6 or 7 upgrade to the AP

Well, I thought of that too, but if we have used one of the "plusses" we can only upgrade to a PAP....that is way too much$$$$. I even thought about the 7/4 and then just buy single day tix as we go along, that way we don't lose our 4 plusses that will never expire, I guess since we do travel to see family stopping and doing a water park would be a blast, but I don't have a time limit on that......I guess we will just have to wing it...if you purchase tix thru a broker. qe ticketmania, can you still upgrade or do the first tix need to have been purchased thru WDW or TDS?
