Ticket dilemma question

Need help deciding what to do for tickets for this upcoming trip. DD is age 9 - we are (hopefully) taking our first trip "home" Trying to decide whether to buy her an annual pass (while she's still 9) or a 7 day PHP. We're going for 7 days in Nov and 7 days in Feb, but all will not be spent at WDW. I know the break-even is around 8 days, but those plusses really come in handy. If we assuume that she has 4 days and 2 plusses left on a pass from the past, should I trade it in for an annual pass? Can I just buy her an annual pass, use the plusses for her in the next trip or so, and "upgrade" the park days to adult so we can use them? Or buy the Child AP, and save the ticket. If in a couple years (when she's 12 or so) if we stop doing AP, could she use the unused days or would they have to be upgraded? And finally, if I trade it in, do the plusses just go away? or would they give it back to me and let me use the plusses even though the park days would be "gone" I just know that people here will be able to answer this easier than Disney

You can go ahead and buy her an AP now, allow her to use the leftover plusses whenever you want, and save the remaining park days until they're needed. Disney will upgrade her pass to adult at no additional charge when she's ready to use it. (That's what I was told by a CM in February. My DS was 9 at the time and has two park days and 4 pluses left on his child's PHP.)

Edited to add: If you apply the remainder of the PHP to the cost of the AP, you will "lose" the pluses.

I've heard that if you have already used plusses, you can only trade it in for a PAP (Premium Annual Pass).
