We really only wanted 3 disney days this year, and were going to do base ticket at the gate. The decline in the $ is making me think that I should do something in advance. All of the ticket websites seem to do 7/14 etc which we dont want/need. The ticket shop linked from the dis homepage has passes which dont really seem to be any cheaper in advance/gate :confused3 The one offer that looked ok was 4 days (not really any more than 3) and they are giving 1 day free for 227$ adult price.
I guess my question is 1, Are you all really appalled at the idea of buying at the gate, am I really losing £$£?
2, Do any other sits do base ticket sales?
3, What would you do?

sorry about the spelling ooops, must be the vino! The 4 day at 227$ pass, by the way has a free day taking it to 5 days - just to clarify. Going now to find dictionary:eek:

We've never bought tickets at the gate, mainly because I like to know my tickets are sorted before we go. We rarely buy the 7 or 14 day UK-only tickets, though, and for the past couple of trips have used www.undercovertourist.com for our Disney tickets. They are reasonably priced and very efficient/reliable. I have purchased tickets and had them in my hand within a week.

If you sign up for the monthly newsletter at www.mousesavers.com, there is usually a link to the Undercover Tourist site for tickets which will save you a couple more $ off the prices posted on their website.

Certainly, if you only need 3 days, it seems silly to buy a 7 day ticket but I seriously suggest you price up the options before deciding.

I use this site for comparing discount prices to gate price. They are always competative. http://www.mapleleaftickets.com/disney_tickets.htm

We buy Annual passes now so not an issue but if I wanted a base ticket I would probably buy at the gate, I would make sure and search and search for good prices but unless I was saving a lot I wouldn't bother with an agent/broker, after being stung with tickets on ebay and seeing ticket brokers collapse over the years I prefer direct.

Any tickets we want for DMIL we buy online and do will call direct with Disney, Universal and Seaworld.

Thanks, will use your links, as you say Wayne if it's onlly a couple of quid I probably wont bother till the gate, though the $ could make a difference :confused3 Checked undercover tourist and they are offering 2 free days with the 4 day $228 ? :surfweb: It might be nice to use the extra days for some evening visits as extra's to the itinary. We did this when we had the 7 day seaworld pass with DC ticket and just popped in for dinner / fireworks and avoid a heavy day.

the prices for 3 day tickets just seem incredibly insane to me...

a friend of mine was talking about going to WDW for only 2 days...
she asked me if it's worth it...
i just stared at her and didn't know what to say...
i mean, that's a fortune of money for a 2 day ticket...

$225 for 3 days, compare that to our AP's renewed a month a go at $433 for 365 days, free parking and all the other benefits.

I know what you are saying ...but we are offsite on the us27 (villa) and wanting a more chilled out time. We have done 10 yrs of comando hoppers/ hopper plusetc etc we also always do Seaworld, Uni & IOA and DC if we can, we also like to eat out at some nice places, and there are 5 of us (3 holidays per year) :scared1: What we are hoping for is a day on / off itinary, therefore dont need the bigger tickets:confused3 I absolutely agree I wouldnt go for 2 days in Disney, but this isn't relevant for us.

That was our plans last August, there for 25 nights thought we would do 1 on 1 off. When it came to it we had 1 water park day and 1 shopping day, rest in parks:goodvibes Thats why we try add a cruise now, it the only way we take time out. This trip we didn't even get time for a water park, 18 days in parks, day trips to Georgia and Daytona and 4 days cruising. We even had plans to do Animal Kingdom morning we came home and we had leave for airport at 11am, turned out it was a late MK night before we didn't get to bed until after 2am so gave AK a miss.

we always use www.magicaltickets.co.uk
they are very efficient, the tickets are always delivered, the next day & are proper tickets.
at the moment,they have a 6 day,straight base, for £129 or the 3 day for £121.
they may be more expensive, but if you are like us,a 6 day is ample, because we can never fit, anymore in, & we never park hop,so buying anything more,is a waste.we would never use,a 7,10 or 14 day pass.
we have tickets from 03,still with all the waterparks left, disneyquest & i think 2 days left & still have no time to use them,so a straight day base, suits us.
tracy

incredible isn't it...:confused3

i guess that's what makes life interesting...we all have different points of view...

I suppose your other option would be to buy a 6/7 Day Magic your way & add non-expiry,obviously this only works if you intend to go back:) ,we have used Ticketmania & mapleleaf tickets & can recommend both.We prefer to pre-buy so that we know that our money is just for spending!
SD:thumbsup2

We always use Maple Leaf for our Disney tickets but prefer the hopper/non expiry option and bought 6 day passes for our next holiday, we already have 2 days on our old tickets also.

The thing about the 3 day base ticket, why would anyone buy that when it's only an extra $20 each for a 10 day ticket?

Thanks for the info on who you use everyone. I know the larger tickets are better value, its just that I know we cant physically use them with everything else planned so it would still be money wasted as we wont visit for another year. However not realised about upgrading to hopper style, will check this out thanks Johnny.:thumbsup2

you could nip in to a walmart while your there and look at the ticket options, i think they start as 2 or 3 day there.
