Anyone know of good ticket deals? I am looking for either 3 day deals or possibly a way to buy tickets and be able to upgrade in the parks to a year (unless i find a killer year deal) I have heard of some people buying discounted tickets but getting full credit when upgrading?! does this still happen anywhere?
:cool1:
Thanks so much!

At DLR, when you upgrade, you only get credit for what you paid. So, if your plan is to upgrade at the Park, it doesn't matter if you get a "deal" on the original ticket. You will lose the savings upon upgrading.

There have been random cases of people reporting getting full price credit when upgrading, but this is NOT DLR's standard policy/procedure and is the exception rather than to rule.

If you had an illegitimate ticket - ie: you bought a semi-used ticket from someone for a discount online, then you might be able to pass it off as yours and upgrade it, at its full value. But you also might not, and loose it completely. Disney is looking for this stuff, so I don't recommend it. But that might be how someone upgraded a "discounted ticket". other than that. When you upgrade, you get the value that you paid for the ticket. also note: some tickets are not upgradable....let say you buy a ticket from someone who won a radio contest. That ticket is not upgradeable.

An exception to the above "rule", we have purchased tickets from our credit union for years. The tickets are about $15-20 below the DIsney price. When we upgrade, we get the DIsney price.

Check out way.com, getawaytoday.com, as well as Ebates/Orbitz. I have used all three of these before. I have read on disboards about velocitytours.com but I have never used them before.

We bought our tickets through Orbitz/Ebates a few months ago and when we went to upgrade we were given the full value of the ticket.

We made sure to use the ticket once and upgraded about a week later. Saved $72 per annual pass that way. (We paid $285 for a 5 Day Park Hopper and got 20% back and got $300 per ticket)

I didn't even ask the lady to price bridge for me-it was just done. Also, my pass expires a year from when we upgraded and not a year from the first day we used it. So all I'm saying is that anything is possible! :thumbsup2

I used the deal posted on the Mousesavers newsletter. I can't post the link here though. You can sign up for the newsletter on the mousesavers.com website. It's free but they only send it out 1x per month. I think they send them out on the 15th of the month. Just thought I'd mention it. I'd also like to hear how people use orbitz/ebates though because when I looked, I couldn't figure out how to order tickets through orbitz.

Here is the link for orbitz

Orbitz emails you a voucher which you exchange at the ticket booth. The price paid is not listed on the voucher, so for those trying to upgrade to AP, I don't know why you wouldn't receive full price credit.

As a side note, I used orbitz tickets on my trip last week. I had absolutely no problems exchanging them and I was helped by the nicest CM EVER:) at the ticket booth.
