Ticket Cards VS. Magic Band

I received my tickets (cards) in the mail a few weeks ago and then I started thinking about it. I had planned on buying magic bands at Downtown Disney but do I need to or can I use the ticket cards to check in for our fastpasses?

You can use either the MagicBands or tickets. Technically, you can link (purchase) each MB color and link it to your ticket. Then you choose to use either the card or MB. Hope this helps and answers your question.

You can use the cards. Magic Bands are easier though imo since their on your wrist and you don't have to waste any time pulling out cards and finding everyone's to give to them.

The cards can still be your park ticket and FP and all that. So just preference for now

The only thing Magic Bands do that the cards can't is, if you buy the Memory Maker photo package your ride photos go to your account automatically without having to write the number down and go to the counter. Other than that, it's just convenience.

We will be off-site, so we will not automatically get Magic Bands. I know that my DH will NOT wear one, and I don't necessarily need one. However, I think that having the bands for our children would be really helpful, since they will be the ones riding most of the rides and can just scan their bands, as needed. Is that an option? Or does the entire family have to use the same thing?

Also, what color options are usually available in Magic Bands. I know my girls will be all stressed if the band color clashes with their outfits. LOL

The color options ordering in advance are red, blue, green, pink, orange, yellow, and the original grey. I'm not sure if those are the same options on-site or not.
