Ticket Advice - Park Hopper or NOT?

I'm debating between getting the park hopper or not. I have always bought the hopper in the past so here's the scenario:

1. I need 8 days of tickets.
2. I'm buying a 10 day pass and getting it cheaper than the 8 day pass (thank you Mousesavers).
3. I don't expect to hop more than 1-2 days. My itinerary is pretty set and we're spending two days at the water parks.

So, if I'm already buying 2 more days than I need and planning to spend two of the 8 days at the water parks will I have enough "days" left to hop 2-4 times anyway? Hope that makes sense!

The problem with this is you CAN'T "hop" by using two NON-HOPPER ticket "days" in one day at WDW.
(You can't use the extra days to hop.)

If you use one day on your ticket at, say, MK on WED the 5th, you can't use "another day's ticket" to later go to, say, Epcot on WED the 5th... the non-hopper will "lock you out" of using another "day" on that same ticket.
It will not allow you to enter 10 parks over 8 days.

That's why its not a good idea to buy more days than you need in one trip (unless you buy non-expiring.)

Just to clarify - you can't use the extra days to hop. A 10-day no-hopper will allow you to enter one park only on each of 10 days. It will not allow you to enter 10 parks over 8 days.

It'll cost you roughly $35ish per person in your party to add the park hopper option. Do the math and decide if it's worth it to hop on those one or two days or if you could put that money to better use....think MNSSHP (or other parties), Illuminations cruise, dinner at CA Grill, etc. We're not hopping this trip. Don't forget to cancel those 2 extra days on your tickets. As the other posters mentioned, they won't do you any good at all. Have fun! :)

If the money is not the issue then I would get the park hopper. That way you can be a little bit flexible if you decide to go to another park on the same day. You can always just add the hopper when you are there.

We have never hopped because we enjoy just taking our time savoring each park.....

Great, that's what I needed to know! Yea it was actually $3 cheaper to buy the 10 day vs. the 7 day! Thanks everyone!
