We are going to the parks for 2 days if I buy a 3 day pass and decide to do 2 parks in one day can you do this and use the 3rd day to get into the second park or do I need hopper option?

Must have park hopper. Disney saw through this idea a very long time ago.

Ok thank you then hopper is my option!

Keep in mind that you don't have to shell out the money for the hopper up front. You can add it to your ticket if and when you decide to hop.

Do you mind if I ask a couple of ticket questions?

We have a room only ressie for one night, going to hang out at POR, we "might" go to MK the morning we check out. If I add the one day of tickets at check in, is it the same price as if I would have added before arriving?

Also, if we add it, and say there is a horrible thunderstorm forecast for the entire day, and we don't use the tickets at all, will they expire in 14 days?

If purchased from Disney, the ticket is the same price whether you buy it ahead of time or when you are at the resort. If you do not use the ticket to enter a park, it will not expire. you can save it for another trip.
the only way you'd wind up paying more is if you had the option to buy it now, decided not to, and then there was a price increase, but that's not a big enough issue to worry about IMO.

A base ticket is one major (theme) park per day. You are allowed to re-enter the same park if you leave it on one day, but it can only be used at the one park.

Note that the ticket may state on it either "Not Valid For Park Hopping" or "One Theme Park Per Day". That should be a hint.

If you put the ticket in the turnstile of another park the display on the Guest side of the turnstile will be "ACCESS DENIED". The top line of the display on the Greeter side will give information about the ticket, and the second line of the display will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". The turnstile will not unlock.

This is because Disney charges $10.00 per day over five days on a ticket, but charges $57 to allow hopping. It does not make economic sense for Disney to allow this.

If you actually have multiple tickets (more than one physical ticket per person) as opposed to multiple day tickets, you can use these tickets for multiple entries. But it makes absolutely no economic sense as a separate ticket costs a lot more than adding hopping to a ticket.

Or, as I have occasionally told Guests who were arguing with me about using a different day on the ticket: (note day of week stated can vary)

The turnstile computer thinks today is Friday. The turnstile computer at the other park also thinks today is Friday. The two turnstile computers talk to each other. If you can convince this turnstile computer that today is not the same Friday as the other computer thinks, it will let you in.

The cost to add hopping (or WPF&M) is $57 ($60.71 including tax) per ticket. It does not matter if it is adult or child, two days or ten days, first day of use or last day of use, the price is the same. (For a Florida Resident it is $28.50 plus tax.) (Note to add hopping to a one day ticket is $35 ($37.28 including tax).)

So if you are not sure, don't order them. If you find you do need them, then upgrade your tickets at any ticket window or Guest Relations Office. It only takes a minute or so.

1. Disney charges the same price for tickets whether you get them in advance, as part of a package, or at the Gate.

2. Any multi-day ticket will expire on the 14th day after the date of first use. If the first use is on a Sunday, the ticket is valid through the second Saturday.

Why not wait and buy the ticket the day you want to use it? You don't have to buy it when you check in.

Now, that I know the price is the same, I will probably add it as soon as I know the weather will be good for that day. I just thought it would be easier to add at the resort than at the park.

You are probably right and you can add it the day of or the night before at the resort too. I was just saying that you don't have to do it at check-in. Have fun!

As a Disney resort guest, with a KTTW card that has your name on it, you could add another park day (with photo ID) after your park visits had been used up.

If you weren't a Disney resort guest, and just had MYW tickets with no name, then you could NOT add a day after your tickets had been completely used (even within 14 days from first use). This change was to try to cut down on scam ticket resellers.

To answer the original question of the OP, it would cost $66 (+tax) to add Day 3 to their tickets. It would cost $57 (+tax) to add Park Hopper. The first 3 days of Disney ticket pricing are most expensive, and that's why PH comes out cheaper. After Day 3, adding park days becomes very inexpensive compared to adding Park Hopper. Still, you must have Park Hopper to visit more than one park in a single day, when using a single ticket.
