Since we are 4 months behind WDW in construction, assuming they don't run into any issues & it is the same transformation, my guess is October.Any thoughts on when it might open in Dl? Wild speculation welcome!![]()
Is the general consensus that Disney does not like vloggers? I think they view it as free marketing. It is wise of Disney to put out a pov ride video, might reduce the amount of vloggers running over to the ride to get their footage in.

Also wise because of all the emotions people have about the old ride.
That said... after watching it....
I do have my doubts if it will be considered a job well done.
I have no nostalgic feelings towards the old ride, and I get why updates were needed, but is this an improvement? The ride feels empty at certain places, especially around the 8 minute mark. The difference with the old splash (in my memory) is that in the quieter places you had the animals talking, making you feel that there was progress in the total story. Here there is not a lot of dialogue, just some random sentences, mainly the songs from the movie. But as this ride is not set within the movie, that feels off.
Not sure if the new story of the ride got properly told, I was several times a bit confused about what was happening. Mainly when we shrunk to the size of frogs. But maybe that improves woth watching it live.
Also thought it a weird choice to have a part where you run into another boat with people in it at the end. This is Disney themselves, they can make the perfect onride video without anyone in it.
Yes, I think they do see it as free marketing, but Disney also likes control. Now they controlled what the first onride look was going to be. And besides that, most traffic goes to their youtube channel. It is just a drop in the ocean of Disney's income, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did it to monetize this video. Is the general consensus that Disney does not like vloggers? I felt the same way. It feels very empty and frankly boring in alot of places. Also where was Naveen? Just that one bit of him at the end. The animatronics were great but it would have been cool if they'd included some more characters. It doesn't seem like an improvement over Splash and looks more like a "One and done" now. I had no idea we were supposed to be watching from a frog's perspective until I watched it a couple of times. It would have been way cooler to set the ride in the movie.
I agree about the musicians-amazing!We watched the video and the ride looks beautiful! We loved the music, too! Dr. John and other legit New Orleans musicians really made me happy.
I'll never ride the ride because I don't like big drops, but I think the ride looks lovely!
Its in my top 5 Disney animated filmsI love Princess & The Frog - it is one of my favorite Disney movies. I was so excited when Disney announced they would be updated Splash to P&F theme. I did watch the videos, and it looks fun but I think as other's have pointed out, the storyline is confusing.
. That being said, I'm excited to ride it once it opens at Disneyland.I'm not sure why they couldn't just re-tell the story of the movie - it would've allowed for the inclusion of Dr. Facilier, which I think was an oversight and takes away from the ride. Most (if not all?) of the classic dark rides in Fantasyland are just re-telling the story of the movies, I think that would have been a better way to go with this ride
