Has anyone seen the POV if the Tiana ride posted by WDW News Today? A little underwhelming and the story of the ride just doesnt fit in splash system. I thought the shadow man would of replace the characters in the laughing place for the story but unless i missed him. IMO Splash should of stayed with Disney acknowledging they were wrong, even turning the shop/photo area into an educational zone. Will be a popular ride but i think a lot of people will be forcing themselves to say its better than splash. Poor from Disney

I have been on Splash tens of times over the years and not once did I see anything offensive. It was a lovely ride with lovely characters and memorable music. It's a crime It's been whitewashed away because of a vocal few who will find offence in anything

It wasnt the ride that was deemed offensive, it was the story that it originated from. However, in the years with me riding splash there must of been millions of black americans & hispanics and i bet less than 2% knew of the story and i bet hardly anyone refused to ride.

I watched it last night and I think they could have done a better job with it.
I have no nostalgic feelings for this ride. My first visit to Disney World was in 2012 and I'm from Europe. I liked the ride, but it had some dull moments in the beginning. After the first hill, when you go by all the little houses of the critters, it's a bit boring. However, it did tell a story. You can see the sign post and it prepared you for a fox and a bear. Not exactly friends of little critters. You get clues of a story, later added with more voice overs and the animals giving you more information. The signs near the big hill with "beware" etc.

I do think it's good that they have added an animatronic of Tiana at the start of the first hill, however what she says, that there is a celebration being prepared is not much of a story. There is a sign post, but it points you to the test kitchen, the break room, the office and the garden. Not really a story.

At this point there is not much talking, but there is the music from the movie of Princess and the Frog. Which I get on one hand, as that's what people know. On the other hand the new ride has its own story. Although at this moment it's not clear exactly what that story is.

We sail by some plants of ocra and Louis yells something about going fishing(?), which feels like filler. Then when we get in the bayou part of the ride, it feels empty in comparison to the old ride. Lots of screens with fireflies. In the old version it looked like there was a lot more happening.
Could also be the lighting on the video Disney released, it's very dark. Maybe there is more to see. On the other hand, the bayou is a dark place, where the world of Brer Rabbit is full of light.

When we see Tiana in the bayou next to the band of critters, only then we get more of the story. Tiana is preparing a celebration and she is looking for a band.

And can I ask: are there mammals like bears in the bayou? I sometimes get the feeling they just selected animals at random in the bayou instead of those who probably live there.

Finally, I would have liked it if they kept the riverboat in the finale, as it fits within Tiana's world. Could have been a new boat to fit "human size" animatronics.

I think Disney could have done a better job with creating a new story with Tiana and this ride.

I never felt any connection to the old splash mountain, it was based on characters that had no relevance to my upbringing. its tailored to US nostalgia so I’m not bothered it’s rethemed

I’ll reserve my review of the ride until I see it in person.

I was worried about the Boat and also wondered if it was gone forever
It was always fun to see the window on the train track with all the LP Splash Characters performing !
To be honest, I kinda don’t like what they did with the train ride since they updated that during Covid …
I plan to ride Tiana once with castmember this weekend but not expecting to be surprised with the update .
I avoid the train nowadays . And it was once my favorite once upon a time

I’m back from the best fun day ever So happy to say I loved Tiana so much !
BUT not having any line to wait and wait and wait is a huge factor. .
I guess I would love to ride this attraction again but not ever going to wait in a longline .Are they planning on a VQ or a LLwhen this opens?

I think the plan is to have the VQ for a limited time, only for the initial rush to experience the new attraction. Then move to standby. But if it keeps being unreliable, the VQ might last longer.
I think it'll be included in G+, but I'm not 100% sure.

I’m sure I’ve seen somewhere that it will be included in the regular genie + rather than it’s own ILL

Just rode it this past weekend for the first time and it was much better than I anticipated it being. Its no splash mountain for me as the nostalgia is something it can't compete with but its very well done. The sets, animatronics and music were all great. My only complaint is that I wish disney would've made a tiana ride somewhere else and kept splash. The theming no longer makes sense in fronteirland to me.

Glad our across the pond friends enjoyed it. I rode it twice over our recent two week trip and I will never wait more than 10 minutes to ride it again. I thought the story was sub par and a there was a lot of nothing on the ride. This could have been so much better.

None the less, I hope the lines is always long so people are not in front of me on better rides. Definitely a to each their own kind of thing.
