THV question

We are looking to to stay at the THV in March, 2011. As a SSR member, I will book half the stay at 11 months out, and my sister (DVC-AKL) can book the other half at 7 month window. At 11 months, should I book the weekend part first? Wondering if people are staying mainly Sun-Fri or if the weekends fill up first...

We've stayed there twice and both times the weekends seemed more quiet to me. I would book Sunday through ??? if it were me but that is just a guess.

2011 will be an odd year to predict. Historically I would say book the weekday portion starting with Sunday first, but the 2011 point charts are much cheaper on the weekends than in the past, so it might book up on the weekends too. It will be a coin toss, but I would personally still book the cheaper weekday portion first.

When I booked our stay for this May, I called at opening on the 11 month mark and got the last one available. Our stay starts on a Tuesday.

First let me say that the Tree House Villas are GREAT!!!

Our family was there during the January 2010 cold spell and rain. The layout of the villa is perfect. The addition of the extra bedroom was perfect for our family.

Now it was cold and rainy so the extra wait stop was not that fun but in NORMAL Florida weather we would have just walked to the normal SSR bus stop and not rode the transfer busses.

If you could add the Boardwalk view to the TreeHouses, they would be our favorite.

We also recently got the last tree house when booking at the 11 month mark for January 2011. Do you have enough points that you can book the entire trip and have your sister transfer you some OKW points? Or have your sister book OKW for the other half of the trip at her 11 month window so you at least have a place to stay. Then she can try to get THV at the 7 month window. I just get kind of nervous of being without a bed.

Definitely have that backup reservation somewhere(AKV if that is where your sister has her points) I have had two waitlists for THV - one for Sept/Oct 09 and one for Dec 09 that did not come through and the second was made at the 10 month point.
