Finally a view of the inside! Look at the view of the river from those windows!! I am so stinkin' excited to stay there. I actually had a dream about the THV the other night. lol :yay:

Oh yeah, I wish she had taken a picture of the master shower/tub "thing"!

Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting choice of lighting in the kitchen (the lights seem to emit more light toward the camera than down to the counters) & I'm not so sure I would have gone with the dark wood paneling like they did - but we all know Disney designers will make it work. Hey, I like VWL & the cabins.

ETA: I understand that these are pre-fab units, but what troubles me is that Disney went out of their way to use what looks like cheap materials with a few special touches added.

Just from the pics I see (the most obvious point) Wood paneling. Sorry but even for my own kid's tree house this would be the last thing I think of adding;

The counter top looks as though it is tossed onto the counter, ignoring that the corners are at eye height for many rambunctious children;

The lighting in the kitchen is wrong wrong wrong. Sorry, but when I'm using a knife in the kitchen I want the lighting focused on the work areas in the kitchen, not the overall room;

... and, not a cheap addition, but what's with the rails on the stairs???

Hm. I'll have to try them for a week to decide if I still like them. ;)

Thanks for posting! I'm so excited about THV. My parents own at SSR, so we'll be able to book 11 months out. We'll definitely be staying here once we have kids and we take a trip with grandma and grandpa!

:woohoo: Thanks, Liz!! Makes it more "real" doesn't it?!! :goodvibes

AHHHHHHHHHHHH - I'm getting sick already looking at that 1960's panelling in/around the kitchen.

I think it fits perfectly with the theme. Certainly not what we'd choose for our own kitchens, but for a treehouse - I like it!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the link to the pics. :) The THV's look fabulous - can't wait to stay there in the future! :goodvibes

ITA. The outside looks pretty yuck too, IMHO. We stayed in a round condo in the NC mountains about 10 yrs ago, and it looked exactly like this - woefully outdated even then. Blech! Wood paneling is not a good look, no matter how you spin it.

Thanks for finding this link!

I have a request for TREEHOUSE ON WATER EDGE on my ressie although MS said they have no idea what sort of requests they'll even end up with. I'm also going to request NEAR CH too! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that water view though, so pretty!

As for the panels in the kitchen, I think it fits. I saw it at first and was a little put off by it, but it is a TREE house. I suppose they could have put more "tree" looking boards up, but for cost, paneling will be just fine. Everything else in there looks like it fits nice for the theme. The woods feel is cool, the lattern lamps hanging down, the stone shower surrounds, all of it gives off a nice woodsy appeal so I am quite happy to be booked there! Plus having a charcoal grill on each deck is a plus too if you like to do cook outs! For us, that's gonna be great!

I am with you, LOVE LOVE LOVE that water view!! :cool1: I didn't put any requests on our reservation...thought about it and just didn't do it. Might do it later though...

For the people who don't like it they won't have to go and that leaves more availability for us!

I'm hoping that at some point my step daughter and her husband and our grandson will join us on a trip. Then I could justify the points to a treehouse! I'd love to stay there but with just three of us (or just me and DH most of the time next year) I just can't justify the points!

It looks really huge! We like our privacy so I don't see it in our future, but good luck to all who are able to book it.

I am so mad that we are out of SSR 2009 points! We'll have to wait until 2010 until we go.:sad2: I think they are going to be super cool to stay in especially with a view of the water. I love boat transportation the most so I can't wait to take the boat from there to Downtown Disney. It should be a gorgeous ride. We also always drive, so we don't have to be anywhere near to anything for convenience sake. Another thing I will look forward to is the trees. We live in a new neighborhood so one of the drawbacks is little in the way of trees.

These pictures don't have that great of quality. I think it will likely look better in person than it does in these poorly lit photos.

What is this, the slam THV thread? :confused: I mean, come on, let's give it a chance! It's a treehouse -- made of wood!! Disney always does a great job with theming. Let's trust they got it right this time too.

And if you don't like it, then I guess you don't need to stay there. :rolleyes1

Who's slamming? We're making observations that help to improve. :love: I love both the FtW cabins and VWL. They're dark and covered with wood paneling. Somehow though, I thought in the year 2009 Disney would have a more modernized vision of what a tree house could be than this.

BTW - I do intend on staying in a THV eventually, wood paneling or not, I just need the extended family to join us to make it worth it. Besides, when in "The World", I doubt many people would be sitting in the tree house staring at the walls all day saying "Wow, that's some ugly wood paneling there." :rotfl:
