Fla.-Based Disney Destinations Tropical Storm Update
Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005
Disney Cruise Line®
Disney Cruise Line continues to monitor Tropical Storm Ophelia. The safety and comfort of our Guests is always our highest priority, and we are always prepared to modify our cruises if weather conditions warrant it. In an abundance of caution, we are diverting the Disney Wonder to Port Everglades rather than Port Canaveral on Thursday, Sept. 8, in order to maintain a safe distance from the storm. The three-night Disney Wonder cruise will depart from Port Everglades on Sept. 8, and the ship will return to Port Canaveral on Sept. 11.
Guests scheduled to sail on Sept. 8 are encouraged to drive to Port Canaveral, where they can park their cars and take motor coach transportation to Port Everglades.
Our reservations agents are currently contacting Guests scheduled to sail on the Sept. 8 sailing of the Disney Wonder and are working with them to make transportation arrangements to get to Fort Lauderdale.
In addition, we are arranging transportation for those Guests who are returning from their four-night cruise on the Disney Wonder to their Central Florida destination, whether it is to Port Canaveral to retrieve a vehicle, the Walt Disney World® Resort or the Orlando International Airport.
We appreciate the cooperation of the port official at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, who have been more than gracious in working with us to make a port change.
