Thursday Thriddle

:wave2: Good morning to everyone..most of you are into the afternoon by now I suppose!

Well after my rude awakening at 5 AMand now feeling better I remembered to to post!

PM sent about 2 hours ago.... Yeah yeah Im in slow-mo today.

But feeling SO much better!! ::yes::

Hi all.

As a teacher, let me say, I would automatically send your child to the nurse. That is what they are there for. What if there was a concussion? I would NEVER want to take that chance. As most teachers are NOT medically trained, she should have known better. Hence the avoidance. Was her tail between her legs? It should have been!

Teacher's are supposed to be the child's advocate! UGH!

As a mother, I find this type of behavior outrageous. A 7-year old child should not be left to fend for himself. He was probably trying to be tough ( I didn't cry, Mom). Poor little guy. Sneaky behavior is ALWAYS SUSPECT!!!!

For AJ:

Steph - so sorry to hear what happened to AJ. Sounds like the teachers story was a little different from his. I can't believe she didn't call you after it happened.

My 8 year old got hurt at school not too long ago and he got sent to the nurses office and he kept teling me he didnt want to be there when they called me.

The office lady said that they are required to call the parents when something happens but not to worry because it wasnt too bad. I dont rememebr exactly what happened to him, but it really wasnt serious. I would be upset if they didnt take care of it. Id rather they overdid the care then underdid.

I know DD's school calls. I was volunteering one day when a boy popped a finger out of place while playing ball. He was sent straight to the office to have them call, even though he was okay. They didn't want to take a chance that it was broken.

I agree. As a teacher, I know that it's my responsibility to notify parents when there is an injury. If a school has no nurse (ours don't), the parent needs to decide if they think their kid needs medical attention. If there is a nurse, they should be told out of courtesy if there was an injury. A huge goose egg . . . definitely deserves a call home.

AJ didn't even see the nurse? Bad idea on the school's part.

Lou~ Lou~ Lou~
