Well, this will be the forecast from now through Sept. It's Florida, it rains in the summer. Unless there is a tropical storm moving through, it's very unlikely it will rain all day every day. Generally, it's nice until mid-late afternoon, then it rains for a short time. I've gone tons of times in the summer. My advice it get up early and head to the parks. I like to schedule my FP's, 11, 12, 1, then make a TS reservation for lunch. Depending on the weather and how tired we are, head back to our resort for a break, or park hop. It's hot, it's summer, you'll get some rain, but hey, you're at WDW. :)

BTDT and it has never been as awful as it seemed. Many storms are not a direct hit on any given park and if/when they are, they usually move through quickly. Good luck!

Uh, it looks like that most weeks. But seriously are you the witch of the west from Oz and will melt? You will not melt and crowds will thin out if it rains.

On the other hand if you are going to a waterpark it may close and if you have kids they may cry and be miserable while waiting on the rain to stop. So I guess your point is valid.

Every summer it typically rains for a few hours each day at WDW. Plan outdoor rides for the morning, when rain & lightning chances are lowest.

image.jpg image.jpg We had that forecast during 2nd week of June either 2014 or 2015. Based on previous experience, we expected the afternoon short storms. Wrong. It rained nearly all day, every day except one, and lots of storms/lightning to go with it. Fantasmic canceled 3 out of 4 tries. Nothing to do but grab ponchos and avoid lightning. Here are a couple pics if they will load.

I don't get it. Here and on FB all I see are posts about people freaking out over the rain. It rains in FL every single day from like May to at least August. Poncho up and soldier on. When it storms some things temporarily close and they reopen afterwards. It's not a hurricane, people. It won't ruin vacations unless you let it.

Last trip we went in August and it did this every. single. day. I'm just assuming the same for this June and it will be gravy if it is dry!

We are coming on the 24th. I’m not excited about the forecast. I was hoping that late May would yield better weather than July. Guess not :confused3

Last year it rained a lot when we were in the parks in July. We went into it prepared with appropriate gear and positive attitudes. It was NOT fun. It rained all day on our AK day. We were soaked to the bone despite wearing ponchos over raincoats AND using umbrellas. Rides were shut down a lot. It just sucked. The highlight of the day was having to sit to eat on the wet floor at Flame Tree Barbecue with our trays of food because all the tables were taken by people who were not eating but were just using the tables to hide from the rain. So we huddled as a group as close to the wall and ate while sitting on the floor. It SUCKED.

When we were hanging out at the resort, we couldn’t even swim because of the lightning. Then our MK day ended up being just as rainy.

I felt bad because I had told my family, based off reports on here, that it would likely only rain or have thunderstorms in the afternoon and that it would thin out the crowds. Boy did I felt like a jerk when neither happened.

Just telling you in case you end up being rained out. It’s not all rainbows and sunshine, literally.

We have only been there in late June/July. We have been fortunate to only have sprinkles...up until our last trip. 2nd day at HS I bought us all ponchos and we ran in the rain to our Sci-Fi ADR...it must have rained a good hour or so but we made it through. Last day (6/30) we were exhausted and went back to resort late afternoon, found the washer leaking, called maintenence. Then the storm came....in 4 trips to FL, I have never seen it rain that hard or seen the trees moving so violently. It took the guy about 45 min to repair washer. (partly due to danger of golf cart transport during storm) but the storm was over by time issue was fixed and off to MK we went. It was slightly cooler and the rest of the night it was dry. Point is, yes it rains...most of the time it's not as bad as forecasted. There's always places, rides to duck into. Don't let it ruin your trip.

This was what ours days looked like too. All. Day. Long.

To be fair to those heading to Disney this week, the rain isn't ALWAYS just the passing afternoon shower - this week, the forecast looks like it may actually thunderstorm - not just rain - most of the day everyday. There is a system moving in that may just sit on the state all week. That is completely different than the afternoon shower and really can dramatically affect your plans.

I would be disappointed, too, if I saved and planned and this was my big vacation weather. There is no harm in showing disappointment and wishing for better weather.

Uhhh you mean the typical weather for Florida in early summer? That *is* the rainy season... there is a LOT of humidity ; it has to drop from the sky sometime...

bring ponchos or sturdy rain gear, learn to get comfy and move around in them. Pack extra ziploc bags for phones, cameras, maps, fibrecloths for glasses, etc. This is why my family tries to wear camping/fishing clothing to the Parks... it dries out fast!

I don't advise wearing sandals, flip-flops or thong shoes, just get some comfy socks and running shoes that have that sweat-wicking ability so they dry while you walk. Pack extra socks if you tend to be miserable in wet feet. If you get too cold, duck into a bathroom and fire up the hand dryers for a warm breeze.

This is the correct response!..I am well aware of the florida weather but this forecast is unusual for next two weeks

We've had lighning (even in the absence of rain) really put a wrench in our plans, occasionally ruining whole afternoons & evenings, as no outdoor rides or pools will stay open. Ponchos don't solve that.

I swear by my sturdy, waterproof Tevas sandals & could never stand any kind of socks/running shoes in wet weather. Different strokes, I guess.

Agree-the 80%/90%/100% rain forecasts are NOT the "typical" afternoon/early evening passing Storms we are all experience at WDW in the Summer .:)
