Thunderstorms question

I believe the person who started this thread was asking for the procedures of when Thunderstorms or lightening approaches what happens to the parks. Read more on here about not trusting the weather forecasts cause they can change or what weather apps to use. Just curious what the procedures are when they give the go ahead once weather clears? What becomes of FP that were missed because of weather?

FPs become anytimes.
Outdoor rides and the boats stop running when there is lightening within 5 miles (or 10 - not sure which protocol they use). Nighttime shows get delayed. Truckloads of ponchos appear in the gift shops.

But wouldn't it be an adventure to be stranded on TSI during a heavy Florida thunderstorm... that's a story you'd tell for years to come

There will not be any thunder or lightning in February. That only happens over the summer so you only need to worry about rain

We had thunder and lightning about a week or two ago. It doesn’t rain much in the winter, either- but it does happen. It can storm or rain anytime, although it’s nearly daily in the summer.

Thursday is our MK day. 85 percent chance of thunderstorms all day. What rides could this affect? Also will they close tom Sawyers island? Thanks.

I’m not sure where you got your forecast but there is little to no chance of rain on Thursday. Just cold. Bone chilling cold.

i vividly remember visiting in February 1989 and walking around Epcot in shirtsleeves. The locals and cast members were all wearing parkas, heavy sweatshirts, scarfs and in many cases gloves...

We brought lots of layers. This will hopefully give my daughter more energy to last longer at the park. She always is done by 3 from.the heat! Shock to our system usually!
