Do you enjoy them or do they scare you?

I like thunder storms unless they're accompanied by potential tornados. Then they scare me!

(I don't like it when the power goes out during a storm either.)

Didn't mind thunderstorms until last year, when 2 of my neighbors' houses got struck by lightning - 2 different days. Not very fond of all the tornado warnings last year either. I'll stick to snow storms now, thank you.

They don't scare me. When I'm in a bad mood, I like it when it storms up outside. It's like Mother Nature and I are connecting.;)

But rain makes me sad.

I also love storms. As long as I'm at home, and not out in the weather.

They totally scare me!!! :earseek: In fact, one of the computers I owned about 10-15 years ago got "fried" by a bolt of lightning that struck my house! :earseek:

Not only that, I hate it when the storms hit late at night when I'm trying to go to sleep. I'm afraid that a bolt will hit a power line and then I'll lose electricity overnight and I can't stand to sleep in the dark!!! Yikes!!! :earseek:

Confession time - I am petrified of lightening! My uncle was hit by lightening twice (lived both times). The first time he was working on a steam railway and his cab got hit, the second time he opened the door to let the cat in! Plus my car was nearly hit by lightening. The bolt landed right in front of my car!
It was quite interesting when I went to WDW in August! One night we had such a bad storm which we had to walk back to the BCV in from MGM. I was absoutly petrified!!

I kind of enjoy thunder and lightening, but around here they are often accompanied by tornadoes and wind, and those SCARE me!

I LOVE thunderstorms when we're at the beach. Nothing better than watching lightning over the ocean and listening to the crashing waves on the balcony with your sweetie ;)

Terrified of lightning!! I am moving to the the capital of lightning...FLorida!! I love Florida, but I dont' like the thunderstorms there! Well...I don't like the thunderstorms here either! :scared1:

I am not a fan of lightning.

My husband's grandfather was struck by lightning and killed leaving my father in law an orphan at age 2 (his mother died from pneumonia a year earlier).
My father in law's uncle was also killed by lightning the following year.

we got caught on the wrong side of a park.....and had to walk to our trailer in a bad storm......the lightening hit a tree and unzipped it......you could hear the sap in the tree sizzling.......also have been near a transformer when it hit too.......two college students were killed in one storm near the state park where we were.......they had pitched their tent on a tree root and the tree was struck and so were they......storms are not to be messed with.......

I LOVE 'em! I've seen lightning hit in the front yard of two different houses I've lived in and I also got zapped once when I was on the phone. Needless to say I don't stand outside or talk on the phone during storms but I love to watch them. They put even the best fireworks to shame.

I hate them! I always associate thunderstorms with potential for tornadoes. Although tornadoes aren't nearly as bad as the ones in Tornado Alley, the ones here are enough to freak me out! I hate storms, and will not stay home during one in fear of seeing the Tornado Warning pop up on the TV Screen. Instead I like to hang out with a bunch of people at a store or something. Take my mind off of it.

I like rain though! :)

Oh, that's sad. :(

Thunder and lightning doesn't bother me unless they are accompanied by high winds. I've never been near a tornado, only saw one from a distance, but that was close enough.

Hello from tornado alley:rolleyes: The thing I hate about storms is that the power inevitably goes out:rolleyes: I can't complain though as we have suffered no loss of property or lives.

I think they are amazing. At night they are great to watch and I find myself sleeping much better when a good thunderstorm is going on.
