Good - Location! Monorail, 2 great restaurants, good mousekeeping, nice pool

Bad - Propane smell from Tiki torches, CM's whipping around those cart paths (almost got knocked down half a dozen times), older feel to the place.

Enjoyed our stay but won't return. We're trying the contempo this time.

We absolutely love the POly! We are trying to decide where to stay next but honestly I am sure we will end up back at the Poly. It makes us happy from the moment we step foot in the lobby! Just thinking about the last time we were there makes me smile! :goodvibes

Hey,

Don't know yet. We will have our first stay in October.

One thing that I've noticed about MOST reveiws, is the reference to the price tag at the Poly: If you think $300+ is lots for it, and don't have a stellar experience, than you MAY have a negitive attitude. However, those who get a deal, or don't feel that $300+ is excessive, have a more positive attitude.

Bottom line--I really think it comes down to what you can REALLY afford. If you've broken the bank to stay there, yeah, you want perfect-- may not be happy with less. No resort is perfect...at any price tag.

I travel often. I've stayed in all level of hotel, resort and motel. Some have been pretty gross; some have been breathtaking.

I'm staying at the Poly for the ease of the monorail, the conveince of the 2 table service resturants and the tropical atmosphere. I also except a clean room and gracious staff--I would expect this at ANY Disney resort. I do not hold the Poly to higher standards of mousekeeping because of the cost.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm planning on a review when we get back. But, I expect, that unless the monorail breaks down and cannot be fixed, the resturants both catch on fire or there are bed bugs in my mattress, it will be a possitve review :thumbsup2

We were at the Poly in July and the best family vacation. The landscaping is beautiful and made walking to our longhouse a pleasure. The pools were great, the room was large, we loved Captain Cook's and the arcade. We rented the mouseboats for an hour and our kids had a blast cruising around the Seven Seas Lagoon. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The convenience of the monorail was for us very important and the being so close to the TTC made the use of the monorail even better. It is expensive but for us we thought it was worth every penny. I'd have a hard time convincing myself to stay someplace else when we go back. Have a great trip:woohoo:

I voted in the "it was OK" poll. We stayed there in 2004 and the room was large for the 4 of us, it was just OK. The pool was nice but also just OK. We prefer the YC much more.:flower3:
