One more question, when I just booked my campsite, it did not ask what colors I wanted for the MB. Will we get the gray ones? For some reason I thought we got to pick the colors. I didn't mention MB at all??

Go to your MDE account and check your Profile > MagicBands. It will ask you to Customize and add in identifying names.

I think it can still take a day for a new reservation to fully enable things in MDX, like ordering bands...

Thanks! I was able to get the FP reservations (since I was less than the 60 days) & customize the MB right after I made the reservation! Very easy!

Just curious, are FPs being cancelled if a room-only reservation is cancelled? (assuming tickets always remain attached)
I remember last summer I cancelled a room-only and got to keep the FPs I had booked.

I have never heard of anyone's FP selections being canceled. If you make FP+ selections at 60 days because you have a reservation, and cancel the reservation, you may not be able to _change_ you FP+ selections until they are within 30 days, but as far as I have seen that is it.

What a helpful thread! I realized that since we wanted MB's for our family (I know not required but a fun souvie to have later) so for $12.95 x 4 each + the 1st day of parking $17 we were paying the same amount without the benefit of FP+. I may consider this idea...

I have had previously bought / used magic bands link to my account as well as tickets I had bought from Undercover Tourist.

I just bough a campsite today for 9/7 and it is still looks like its only letting me book FP+ 30 days out. Is there something else I am suppose to do?

9/7 is still more than 60 days out. When it hits 60 days, it will magically open up.

There are so many pages to read through so I am sorry if I missed it while skipping through pages, but do people staying onsite do this as well so that they have extra FPs? For example, you have your reservation for your family and book another room only reservation under another name for the purpose of getting onto rides with an extra set of FPs?? It seems like it would be very challenging to keep track of which times for which FP. I think I read where somebody on FB did this and had 3 sets of bands for a single trip. I think my head would blow up.

Having a reservation does not get you extra fastpasses...that's based on your ticket.

There is a loophole that involves having a band that is associated with a separate MDX account, and that is only for same day fastpasses.

So I guess that guy who had that many FPs per day, he had 3 sets of bands for everybody in his party? Still seems like a lot to keep track of.

I booked a campsite for 1 night, mid-August; 8 people. Is Disney going to send me 8 magic bands, and when? It doesn't say anything in the reservation about sending me bands (it does say "travel documents" will be sent to me).

I don't have any tickets linked to the MDE.

If your reservation is appearing in your MDX account, you should see an option to customize magicbands. You do it there, and they will send them after you customize.

If it isn't appearing, you will need to link it.

You won't be able to make any Fastpass+ reservations without the tickets, but it does not have any effect on magicbands.

I have a question for clarification. If you were going to do this and your first park day was a Saturday would you set your reservation for Friday or Saturday? I'm thinking Saturday because we would then have EMH access and parking on Saturday and Sunday right?

The only purpose I could see to book Friday night is it would give you a one-day jump on getting FP+ for Saturday, since you'd be able to book that day when it reached 60 days from the Friday check-in. But then you wouldn't have any perks on Sunday.

Only you can decide if it is worth it.

As for what else, the obvious ones would be Extra Magic Hours, which in the past was sufficient enough for some that well before MagicBands it was worth it; the 60+ day FP+ reservation window; and the 180+X advanced dining reservation advantage (which is minor if only booking a throwaway for 1 day.)
