No such luck for me.:headache:
Called in this am at 6am, on hold for 20 minutes only to be told I could only make reservations for the reservation length. Soooo, made my one reservation.
SO disappointing...Not only that, I get to do it all over again everyday this week...

It's also quite possible that when you make your NEXT phone call (or the next,) that CM will allow you to book for the rest of your trip.

Each CM can have his/her own set of "rules."

Ok...I'm sure this has been answered but my end-of-year-teacher-fried brain wants to make sure I completely understand this.

We are staying at SOG for our Thanksgiving week stay. I've already booked my ADR's, so that isn't an issue. My main concern in the A&E FP. This trip is to celebrate my daughter turning 5 (we took my son 3 years ago when he turned 5), and if she doesn't get to see A&E, she will be tremendously upset.

So, if I book a throwaway room for our first night there, I can book my FP+ at 60 days for all 4 days we are there, right? Would that work if they renew the Armed Forces Salute tickets? We are waiting to buy tickets to see if they renew again this year.

I'll try again this morning, otherwise nothing like waking up at 4:45am all week b4 a 15 hour drive into the mountains! :rotfl:

It's also possible that they could be changing the "norm" to be +X and not +10 given how they want everything linked, etc. I haven't heard this is happening, but there are some indications.

The web site doesn't really mention ANYTHING about the dining window at all that I can find.

You have to have linked tickets to book FP+, not just a reservation. And it's still a little sketchy to me, but it seems that you can book up to the length of the reservation OR the ticket length, whichever is greater.

Called back, same answer. Called back one last time, and got a very awesome CM. When I played dumb and asked if I could make further reservations she offered "Oh, you can make up to 10 days worth" She was great, I even did the survey after our call. :thumbsup2
Got everything I wanted, but I wasn't looking for BOG. ;)

THanks for the tips!!

Okay, so it doesn't matter what type of tickets they are?? I guess what I'm asking is if I were staying on site and using the Armed Forces tickets I could still book 60 days out?

As long as you get them in advance and can link them to the system. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe the AF Salute tickets can be linked.

The first CM I talked to acted like she wouldn't be able to make reservations past my check out date, but said she would see if the system would let her. Once it let her for the first reservation, it was full speed ahead. No problems whatsoever making the rest of them.

The next CM I spoke to (to make additional reservations) didn't bat an eyelash and just booked the reservations.

I think it is the luck of the draw who you get .... Glad it worked out for you!

Are you talking about the special 4 day tickets? Here is what the deal is with our party that will be travelling next week. Things could change between now and then so take it for what it is worth.

I am travelling with extended family that purchased 6 for the 4 day $169 military tickets. We booked a throwaway campsite. We linked all tickets, there were a total of 10. I was able to book all FP+s at 60 days out. On the 60 day mark for our check in day, I was able to book FP+ for our first 2 days. Then 3rd Disney day until we used the number of days on the tickets, I could book 60 days out for each day. Even now, I can go into the system and have all the way until Aug. 2 open for me to book FP+. I can't book anything because I don't have any days left on my ticket. If I cancelled one of those days I would still be able to book a FP+ for 60 days from today. This is for all tickets linked in my account. I also want to add that the military tickets were purchased on a base and were not vouchers.

I hope that all made sense and helped you out! :)

Thanks...I still have a hard time keeping it straight in my head how reservation length vs. ticket length works. I wonder how long the 60 day window keeps open? I seem to recall that you get 60 days up until the day of check-in - then you can't book beyond that until it gets back down to 30 days, or something like that.

You had me but then you lost me. You say you could book all FP at 60 days out, but then you said you booked the first 2 days at 60 days out.

Also, did you get Magic Bands? Do you have to link the tickets before the magic bands come? We're holding off a few more weeks on tickets to see if they are going to renew the military tickets.

I can book 60 days from the day we check in. Our check in day is June 9 and I can book 4 or 5 days depending on the ticket (we have some of both linked to the account) at 60 days out. At this time I can book up to Aug. 2 from that one day June 9 reservation. My feeling is that after my check out date, that my window may go back down to 30 days but won't know for certain for a few more days.

So our reservation is for 1 night with check in on June 9 and using the 5 day tickets.
On April 10 I was able to book for June 9 & 10 (60 days from check-in)
April 12 booked for June 11
June 12 is a non-park day
April 14 booked for June 13

So it isn't 60 days until check in but 60 days after check in.
April 15 booked for June 14

When you have an on-site reservation, you can book for the length of your stay at 60 days from your check in day. Those with a week stay can book all of their FP+s at one time. So with a one night stay, you can book your check in and check out day at the same time 60 days from the check in date. All the days after your check out day will be 60 days for each day.

Does that make sense?

Yes, I get it now. Thank you! Like I said, I'm a teacher and this is the time of year my brain is fried! :hyper:

So with the throwaway room, you still got magicbands, right? If we weren't going Thanksgiving week, I probably would just wing it, but I'm worried about the crowds that week (being a teacher, I'm limited on when we can go).

Hi.

I heard that they have finally closed the loophole that allowed people to book a one-night throwaway at a campsite in order to book 10 days worth of ADR's. If that was tried now it would only work for the day of the reservation plus the day after. Just wondering if anyone else heard about this?

Hmmmmmm.

I don't see any mention of change in the gigantic "Throwaway Room" thread on this board.
HERE is the last page of that thread.

Maybe there's something being discussed on the Resorts Forum.

It was on the previous page. Some report that online works, some don't. Some say they called and sometimes the CM let them, sometimes not. Just wondering if they have completely stopped it for online.

So has it been confirmed whether or not you need to check in to get the free parking?

So I apologize that I am a little late to this thread...but we are considering booking a throw away campsite for 1 night for our sept trip bc for our party of 7 it is cheaper than buying magic bands outright at $12 each (plus they can personalized)...thing is, we do have six nights booked at the dolphin (where you don't get magic bands) and I would book this campsite for the Sat night before we actually arrive on Sun and that might help me get A&E for our last MK day Friday - since we technically would have a split stay. Currently we have two rooms at the dolphin booked, and six days tickets purchased, all linked to my MDE acct and our associated party of 7.

Here is my question: What happens if we never check in to Wilderness and will it in anyway impact our FP's? Or does anyone know

The last thing I want to do is do this to save a few bucks & maybe get an A&E FP+ only to lose all our FP's for the week when we don't check in, which we won't bc we won't be there yet.
