The other night my family got to talking about our ADRs for our upcoming September trip. We mentioned that all but 2 restaurants will be new to DD8, 'Ohana (but this will be dinner instead of breakfast) and PSB. DD seemed confused and wanted to know when we'd done the Princess meal and I explained that it was the breakfast at Akershus. She didn't realize it was the same place and seemed vaguely disappointed (we'd done both PSB and CRT in Nov '05). I started telling her about where I'd eaten on my last trip (Sci-Fi Dine In and Marrakesh, both wonderful) and she seemed intrigued. I told her there's a belly dancer at Marrakesh and she was instantly sold! She actually asked me to cancel PSB and get Marrakesh.

On one hand, I'm really happy because I loved Marrakesh (much more than PSB) and this will help clear up some scheduling issues, but-on the other hand- DD won't be dining with princesses this trip. Oh well, she doesn't seem broken up over it, so I guess I should be thrilled. :thumbsup2

I know what you mean, but it was me who decided not to schedule any princess meals for DD5. We did 2 last year and she has every autograph and picture you can imagine. I booked LTT and Ohana breakfast for something different. She is going to do the BBB. It's just hard when you have to teenage girls to contend with and I do not like splitting up the family for meals. I would like to take her to the princess tea though, before she gets too old. :cloud9:

You never know what your kids are gonna really like or not. I thought for sure the sweetpea would never want to go back to BOMA, come to find out, she loved it and can't wait to go back. I also was talking about a few other places not thinking she would want to go, and she wants to after all. Kids are funny like that sometimes.

I also know how you feel. We let our 2 dd's pick one meal each, dd-7 chose CM's and dd-2 chose the new Playhouse Disney meal at MGM (ok, we helped her choose as we all thought she'd get a kick out of them and since it's new and all... we thought, what the heck right?!) and well, we aren't going to have any princess meals this year and I think I'm more disappointed then my 7 year old! The last 3 trips we've done PSB lunch (last year) and then CRT breakfast (the 2 years prior) and really had a fun time at all of them. My dh is pretty princess'ed out though (as he put it) and wants a break from them. Me on the other hand am missing the thought of dining with them, how silly is that when my dd is ok with it??

Anyway, I've stressed to dh that next year we will be dining with them again though seeing by that point our youngest will probably really love them by then. Actually I think she'd love them this year as she knows all about Ariel and knows when she's singing now. :)

Sorry for the longwinded response... just wanted to let you know you're not alone with how you feel!

My DD7 has informed me she is no longer interested in the princesses which just KILLS me. I made an ADR at CRT for our next trip (oct) so I can shove the princesses down her throat one last time. :sad2: I know this is probably the last trip I will be able to do so.
