:wave2: My DD15 is taking her friend, age 15, with us on our upcoming trip to WDW in Sept/Oct 2006. The friend is a 'thrill-seeker' and while she is very fun-loving, still finds Tower of Terror tame! Since I just watch on those kinds of rides, I am curious if y'all have suggestions about what to steer her towards.

We are going to hit all of the obvious choices at the parks, roller coasters and rapids, etc. But are there any other thrills you can suggest?

I kinda thought renting a boat might be fun, just not sure if they are allowed at that age and which one would be fun.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you may want to check out US! We went in April and loved it! Much more of a "thrill" ride park! Aimed at a little bit older target audience, but if they are looking to walk on a little bit more of the wild side, you may want to take a day or 2 of your WDW vacation and hop over to US/IOA!

Islands of Adventure. That's where the 'thrills' are! :thumbsup2

That said, definitely make a trip down to Busch Gardens as well. We just took two 13 year olds yesterday (my son, a seasoned theme park vet and his buddy, who has never been). We were at USF/IOA the day before but Busch is the park they BEGGED not to leave. Who knew?

There are a lot more coasters at Busch if that's mainly the sort of thrill you're looking for. If it's just action-packed rides, IOA is the place to be.

I'm not sure if weather permits -- But I was reading Typhoon Lagoon has a Surfing Class (it's kind of Pricey ) It's after hours I think when the Water Park Closes ---- It's at the bottom of the booklet they send==== :groom:

There sure isn't much at WDW for thrill-seeking teens. They would fare much better at Islands of Adventure.

I am a HUGE thrill-seeker and still get frightened and sometimes chicken out on TOT. I love the following rides. RNR, EE, SM, KRR, TOT, MS, and TT. i do not do BTM bc it gives me a headache just like Gwazi at BG.

PS I am also 15 so you should deffinitely consider my advice since me and your DD are the same age.

I myself am 15 yrs old and I find WDW great for thrills. All the coasters are great. Alot of the fast pace rides are cool but, the coolest thing I've ever seen and my dad did this, was what I'm doing on our next trip which is parasailing. The view is amazing you can see the Cinderella castle, Spaceship Earth, TOT, and the Earful tower. It sounds very cool and great for thrill seekers old and young. It costs about $90-100 for one person for 10-15 min. at about 300 feet in the air or for bigger thrills 600ft in the air for a higher price.

I consider myself a thrill seeker, but when I'm at WDW it's just being there that makes me happy, even if there aren't the most thirlling rides there. Although, I consider the obvious ToT and RnRC pretty thrilling rides.
But I wouldn't lose sleep over this if I were you. Afterall, she will be a guest of your family vacation and I'm sure her and your daughter will hit up the thrill rides that WDW has to offer and appreciate them for what they are.

I agree with the posters who mentioned adding US/IOA to your plan.

Also, I would schedule a day at BB or TL. Unless you live near a serious water park, those places are pretty thrilling and will be brand new to her.

IDK if they want to go off property but good advice all the same. :thumbsup2 Also i think that BB and TL look really good I have not ben to either but we wanted to go one day and it started raining so we went to MK instead.

Mission Space is an extremely thrilling ride. I consider myself somewhat adventurous (i love ALL the thrill rides) and I even will never go on that ride again. And better yet, you can make it a family affair, in other words the thrill seekers and the tame gang can all go on! They've recently added a "tame" version of the ride so that those of you who are less adventurous can still enjoy the ride! I believe parasailing is also available, I'm sure for not cheap though, I'm sure you can ask the concierge upong your check-in for further information on that and for more great ideas! Have fun!
PS- Islands of Adventure is a great choice as well, whenever we take a Universal trip, we make room for Disney and it's really only 20 minutes away! We have terrific IOA experiences and it's a bit wilder than Disney.

how about go swim at shark reef at Typhoon Lagoon. I love all the big coasters etc. but last month it was time to swim w/the sharks!

I have had this question for a while. Is there a barrier between you and the sharks? Because at Discovery Cove they have a glass wall between them and you. I would love it if there was just you and the sharks. But that sounds like it would bring on obvious dangers and lawsuits.

I'm 14, and I think a 1 day trip to Bg would be a good course of action, the park is primarily rollar coasters. (I love the KUMBA)

You know what I always wanted to do? I dont know if they offer this is the Orlando vacinity, but I always wanted to do an airboat ride in alligator occupied swamps. I know they're very popular in Florida.

check out some of the brocheurs at any Orlando hotel. I think Gatorland offers that kind of experience but i am not 100% sure.

The Sharks are passive sharks, no need to worry!

I agree on trying Busch Gardens. I did a quick afternoon trip there last week while I was in Tampa for business. Figured I would try it since I was there and I'd be hitting disney in a few months. It rained when we arrived, so everything was shut down for about 2 hours. I was disappointed, especially since I can usually ride everything in the rain at WDW! but we stuck it out and then when everything reopened, we had NO lines for anything. We hit every coaster they had, plus the Rhino Rally (like AK's safari) and Katonga (like Lion King show) in under 5 hours!

Their coasters were amazing and we rode many twice with no wait that day. Here's a pic of the newest one, i swear that drop was STRAIGHT down! :rotfl: The drive from Orlando to Tampa can be done in about an hour.

Make her drive and try to get from the Epcot parking lot to I-4 when Illuminations gets out.

Have them eat at a random buffet restaurant on 192.

Visit the 24 hour Walmart at 3am.

Make her protect a 5' square area on Main Street for 2 hours before Spectro.

Send her into Vista Way with a Bud Light 30 pack filled with Sprite on a Friday nite.

All very thrilling things to do.
