Thrify Car Rental....

Ok, you guys were so much help on my last question

Anyone have experience with Thrify?
We got a really good deal on a minivan, 6 days, $200 plus taxes. We have airport pick up.

I use Thrifty all the time. You need to catch the bus (which is always at the airport) & take it about a mile away. It is a quick stop.

I have had very good expriences with Thrifty.

My ressie says airport pick up.... does this really mean a mile from the airport or is there a desk at the airport?

The Thrifty facility is about a 5-minute shuttle bus ride form the airport. They don't have a counter in the terminal, but the Thrifty facility is completely self-contained, with pickup, drop-off, and shuttle bus facilities all in one lot.

I've rented from Thrifty at MCO several times and had good experiences each time. The cars have been in good shape and clean, and the employees have all been very courteous and helpful. The shuttle busses run pretty close together; usually you only have about a 10 minute wait between them.

Definitely join the Blue Chip club! It will allow you to go to the special Blue Chip counter when you pick up your car, skipping the regular line and the hard-sell extra insurnace sales pitch.

And if you are a member of Sams Club, get the travel magazine; it has coupons for many rental agencies, including Thrifty, and I have gotten excellent rates using those coupons at Thrifty over the last few years.

Used Thrifty my last two trips. No complaints. Excellent prices for 8 day rentals. Shuttles come quickly, line moves fast. I've had no issues with going off site for this rental. It is MUCH quicker than Alamo which is on site.
